I was thinking .of getting one for my Airforce 50 to launch some 625 gr Spitzer boat tail.! I know.my stock set up is too.slow .to .go. heavier than.500 gr slugs. I'm going to get a booster pump because I under stand the limitations of 4500 psi fills. I have only seen youtube videos of Chad from lethal air shooting over a chronograph. Any real. world experience with African Air Ordinance 4500 psi. upgrade kits appreciated.

I bought one for my .257. I was disappointed with the product.
I would do some checking of barrel twist rate and bullet length to make sure the bullet of that length will even stabilize with the Texan's twist rate.
What will a 625 grain bullet kill that a 500gr bullet will not?

I'm more concerned with ballistic coefficient than anything. The 450.to 500 gr slugs I shoot are in the b.c area 2 to 2.5. The full size 625 Spitzer boat tail should have a b.c at least double that. So half the wind to deal with. Shooting at 125 yards I get 3-4 inches of wind drift under normal conditions where I'm at. I ran the twist rate calculator for my texan with the 1.375 inch long 625 bt and it was in the range of stability. My stock.c.f. tx 2 valve has been very reliable and accurate. I have heard of some reliability issues before online about the aao valves. I know comparing apples and oranges you can.buy a Chinese regulated valve for.a condors on ebay for a.100.bucks. $480 dollars is alot for.a.valve.

As i have just plowed through http://www.africanairordnance.com they have no complete kit including 36" barrel anymore!
So it is standard Airforce and 1:30"-
Which means no more than 1,3-1,35" bullet length given sub sonic speeds.

the bullet length is 1.375 . the bullet weight is 650 yr pure lead. Spitzer boat tail. The accurate mold cast very nice. It is a tumble lube or powder coat design. I'm my still stock.Texan 50 CAl TX2 valve and factory barrel.this is the most accurate bullet for me consistently at 125 yards is the range I practice at. At 3625 psi.with power wheel maxed out it shoots great 750 fps

I don’t think the ballistic coefficient is as important, since these bullets are traveling subsonic. Worry more about twist and performance in your particular gun. We tend to look at ballistic coefficients for long range in higher velocity bullets, but here you can more likely get better ballistic performance by going to a lighter bullet.

I wish I had the funds to try a African Air Ordinance 4500psi kit..It seems like the new kits are legit for 45 and 50 cal anyways.. There's been a few used Texans with AAO 4500 psi kits on rifles for sale in the classified here..Mostly test Airgun s for YouTube reviews.... I think the cost and need for booster pump is keeping there sales low. With the AAO 4500 psi 50 cal kit on Helium I bet 1050 to1100 fps possible with my 650 grain spire point boat tail .5 B.C.
