I have around 3/4 acre of land and am looking at taking out a few pigeons and squirrels but wondered if there was such a thing as an affordable night scope that I can add to my FX Verminator for evening/night shooting.
I have a balcony so would be an ideal location to target from.
Ideally it would be perfect if it was possible to get a scope that worked in day and night but I have no idea about this or in fact guns yet, I'm a total learner.

Any help appreciated.

Silly as this all may sound if I were sitting and going to be firing from a balcony I'd get a scope mount for a camera, and then an IR floodlight that a person could mount and point away from the balcony. No extra weight to hold onto for the light then.

Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QNC2ICM/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_TeH4vbK1H7ZMS

Note I say "like this" not exactly that one. Bit of research should bag you the right array for your needs. Then a cheapie scope mount for a camera and boom... insta-night vision.

However if you're wanting something for sneaking and peeking and moving around prey in the dark, that might not be ideal. Either way that's just my two pennies for what I'd do in that situation. Then again I'd also be looking for a nice outdoor massage chair for that balcony so I could sit on my butt and watch for critters in style lol!

NV (for shooting/hunting) comes in broadly two types, Tubed 'analogue' & purely Digital. These both come in broadly two formats: Add-On and Dedicated.
Add-ons are attached to a normal dayscope when required.
Dedicated NV sights are similar to dayscopes (but you dont see through them, you see a small screen image), they stay on the rifle at all times.

Tubed NV cannot be used in daylight or near bright light sources. Good quality Tubed NV is also VERY expensive (thousands of £s).
Digital NV is unaffected by daylight/can be used daytime (although the image falls short of a good dayscope).

2 aspects in your question point to a Dedicated Digital NV setup - Affordability & Day / Night use.

Some popular options (especially in the UK) are the Yukon Photon and the Armasight Drone Pro. The Photon is perhaps more suitable (& cheaper :)) for a small rifle like the Vermy.

I should mention that it is not legal to shoot roosting birds at night (in the UK), Rats, Rabbits etc and similar 'pests' are legal.
