AF Texan LSS innards

Has anyone taken an Airforce Texan LSS apart?

I'm about to pull the handle on a Texan and before it arrives in Denmark all US prices is at least marked up by 25-30% so i vant to make sure the shroud and silencer is worth the extra $$$.

Carbon fiber tubing is cheap and i have a complete machine shop (lathe and mill) so a little machine time is no biggie and i have made very good silencers before so no stranger there either.

If you've got skills and access to material, I'd go with a stock long barreled Texan and DIY.

All you have to do on the valve to get 50 FPS more is pull the poppet spring and the flow restricting spring retainer.

Convert to a carbon fiber bottle BUT you need to contact Dyotat100 (Doug Noble) for a new hammer spring so you can fill above 3000 and up to 3500 (bad efficiency above 3500 fill, very bad efficiency at those 4500 fills!). Using the stock spring you will get valve lock filling more than approximately (it varies) 3100 / 3200.

Then do your own moderator.

FYI - I'm in the US but used 17mm-1.0 threads on the muzzle of my .457 Texan as it left the thickest barrel under the threads. Cheap Chinese CF tube available so I have a 40mm x 8"/200mm baffle chamber in front of the muzzle and the tube extends back to the front of the rifle frame, with an adapter that fits there. The muzzle nut is secured inside the tube and vents back into the space between the muzzle nut and the frame adapter. Not backyard friendly quiet but noise is greatly reduced and is hard to make out that a shot occured 50 feet away.

Just went and measured the full 40mm OD tube length and it's 429mm.

Ahh but i have to go through Airgunexporter!

Anything above .177 is deadly in Denmark so i need to get an import permit before shipping and use UPS/FEDEX as shipper (Danish postal service wont touch anything remotely gun related).

So i have my hand tied behind my back on this one and i can expect to pay @$400 in shipping and then 25% Danish WAT on the total amount.

@$1100 + @$400 = $1500 + 25% = $1875+ when it arrives here.

So i will use KY jelly for some time after arrival ;-)
