AEAC video - vlog09 Kalibrgun Cricket Mini Carbine WST .22

Good initial review, and a very underrated gun. I had mine for AFT, 50 yard BR, and Speed Silo at EBR and it was a great gun for all three. Mine shoots the 18.1s at about 855 to 860 FPS and gets about 55 shots from a 250 bar fill down to about 130 bar. It’s my go to gun when I go small game hunting squirrels, rabbits and pesting for rats... Looking forward to your full review, and it was great to meet you at EBR.

Love mine accurate and reliable , 42 shots for me from a 230 bar fill@ 900fps 16 grain jsbs. Work with the trigger and it can be tuned to be very light and crisp. Change the spring or cut a couple of coil's off the one that holds the detent ball on the magazine and cocking becomes very smooth.

As for installing the magazine sitting down with the carbin on it's side in your lap its very easy with both hands.

Standing try cocking then hook your pinky around the small silver knob while tilting the carbin slightly right side up and holding the magazine between your index finger and thumb...pull back with your pinky and slip the magazine in with your index finger and thumb. Easy peasy!!!

I'm totally trying that! Thanks!!

Good stuff right here! You can always count on Steve to tactfully point out the areas that need improvement.

Interesting to see how bumping up the FPS really affects shot count. So the big question is... do we really need to be shooting the 18g pellets at 875 or above???

I'd love to compare the BC of the same pellet (15.9g or 18g) at different velocities. The pellet is so far from aerodynamic that the difference between 830 fps & 900 fps may be negligible.

The loading issue is solved easily with a modified plate that can be gotten from DonnyFL or home made. Although, to be honest, it wasn’t a real big issue for me, although I did get Donny’s plate.

Not to mention that you get a 14 round mag. That’s a nice amount of shots per magazine load.

My Mini is my favorite go to gun. It’s more than what I need for my current needs. At 30 yards it’s just a single hole. Add the Sumo and you can only hear the hammer.

I call her катюша, but could easily be Goldilocks.

Thanks for the preview of the Mini Steve. Cricket fan boy here since 2014 ;-)

Would prefer one with a 20" to 22" barrel in .22 cal so it could easily be power tuned for the redesigned 25 gr monsters. Just got my .22 pup back from Derrick with a power tune for the RD monsters and lovin' it! He managed 44 FPE which is tough to do with a 17.5" barrel. And of course I have to give up a lot of shot count for that kind of power ;-)

I'm hearing all kinds of discrepancies in barrel length for the Mini? Kalibrgun website has it at 390 mm ( 15.35") 12 groove barrel ? Not sure what the 450mm twist means?

AOA doesn't list a barrel length? Georgia Ariguns list it as 16.5" ,and RL Airguns list it as 17.5" ????

Keep up the good work Steve. Really appreciate your good honest reviews!

Jimmy

Thank you for this. Donny is sending one so I can share it in the full review. Steve

I dropped more magazines on the floor using the modified plate than when using the pinky method...but maybe just me. I have a plate if someone wants it? PM me.

Have yall ever tried...for lack of better word speed loading a cricket magazine???

It's easy just lay the magazine in the palm of your hand then sprinkle pellets all over it and most will fall in head down then just push them and sprinkle a few more.

Or just keep inserting pellets into the mag as it indexes, without removing it... like some Hatsans can do 😃

Kalibrgun Crickets are the top leaders in a top accuracy almost maintenance free PCP they are built like tanks,

Super good video and review of the gun, Big thumbs up.

I almost forgot the Magazines will spoil you big time in loading. So easy to load a full magazine and with Donny's help even easy to load magazine in gun,

I got Donnys side plates on my 22 and 25 B/P , Donnys the man and Crickets the gun.

This one measured about 1/16" shy of 14.5" Jimmy. Hope this helps. Steve

So I decided that with the holidays and kitchen remodel, I can't afford to keep the Mini and I'm shipping it back to AOA on Monday. One of y'all would be crazy not to phone them up and see if they'll let ya have it at a pre-owned/demo price. I'm returning it to them in pristine out of the box condition and this one is crazy accurate and well tuned... perhaps they all are but just sayin'.
