AEAC video - NEW Benjamin Marauder Semiautomatic Regulated

Just watched this video on airgun101. Great intro video Steve! Lots of solid info. I would suspect that many might hold off buying now because of the coming Turkish walnut stocks. Personally, I'm more interested in the weight reduction of the synthetic myself. Now, if Benjamin would just get realistic about a .22 caliber pcp's proper foot pound level (you're stated pet peeve) and drop the stupidly heavy steel pressure tube (my pet peeve) they would really be up to speed. It would be awesome if, for your full review, you could show a schematic or an animation of what's actually going on in the action. The hand jesters you did in the video were pretty funny but might get a YouTube censor's attention, good luck with that.

FWIW: As a SAM owner, found what was stated as credible and fairly accurate to my experience. I have seen the sticking charging handle and agree with all the comments on the trigger. The adjustments make a significant improvement, but you still have to get use to the long pull. It is definitely preferred over a heavy trigger. For my use, will be staying closer to 50y, but will be interesting to see how well it could perform at 100y. I'd say the gun in the video, is shooting a little better than mine, and wouldn't claim mine was 100% true to an optically centered scope.

I did see in Crosman's 2021 catalog that the Turkish stocks are coming for the Mrods. They do look nice, but like the poster above, weight is the concern, for me. I would think the finish will hold up better under heavy use, than the beech. As a few others have done, I adopted the Mrod syn stock to the SAM. It was a little more than 1/2 lb improvement, but seems to make a larger improvement in handling. The forearm on SAM feels too fat to me. Maybe I'm just too accustom to the standard Mrod stock shape.

PS: I did like the plug for John at the end. :)

I clicked for the gun into and left with the fun info. God bless the USA.

I simply wish Crosman would make a Marauder with a side lever instead of a bolt action. Simple.

Have you seen the Benjamin Akela?

Its a straight throw bull pup for not much more than a Marauder.

I picked one up a week ago, and am still dialing it in, but so far I’m very pleased with it.

Those simply have not been available long enough to establish reliability. However, I have no problem with the bullpup design. Short, light and accurate is always a good thing... if it all comes together in the same device. (grin)

Oh... and not to mention I ONLY want .177 and it appears that the Akela doesn't come in that flavor. (sigh)
