AEAC video from "AEAC Vlog" on the Air Arms TX200 mk3 .177

...and here's a bunch of pics I pulled over from Steve's facebook.

  • What do you think about Steve's discovery process?
  • Can anyone relate, or do you have an questions for him?

AA uses Lothar Walther barrels in the TX200 and this one's hittin' the buffet.

Steve went through this entire exercise TWICE cuz it took him a while to discover that the trigger wanted a different approach than what he had been implementing.

A peek at Air Arm's sliding breech & fixed barrel system. It opens automatically upon cocking and a ratcheting anti bear trap mechanism keeps your fingers attached.

Steve, why haven’t you finished the Hatsan Lightning review? You did the preliminary intro and stopped? Was there something wrong with the compressor?

Yes and no. I identified & pointed out a more efficient way to route the cooling hoses as to increase flow and avoid possible kinks. Hatsan right away made the production change and sent out update kits to the 50 or so people that had already bought em. Hatsan also made a vid about it on their YouTube channel.

I'll get back on it right after EBR... just wanted to keep moving while I waited for my updated unit and I wanted to film with the updated unit so people wouldn't be confused by the setup & maintenance scenes... as they look a little different and YouTube is forever.

steve - thanks for the informative video - I am quite surprised that you have not had pleasure of the TX200 experience earlier - not many shooters have much to complain about shooting the arguably best mass produced spring airgun - yes , I agree , the TX trigger is a nicer version of the weihrauch record , and that's saying a bunch -- after all , the TX200 was specifically manufactured to be a better version of the weihrauch HW77/97 platform , trigger included - and cosmetically , WOW - it is GORGEOUS - the level of excellence in the finish has to be seen to be appreciated - words alone are not sufficient - if you really would like to see a positive reaction , hand a TX200 to powder burner shooter who has no conception of air rifles - they are truly blown away by the beauty and the trigger -- they think a 4 pound trigger on their AR15 is wonderful - TOTALLY UNPREPARED to feel a 14 OZ trigger on the TX - if you want to feel a smooth shot cycle , steve , check out a TX that has a 12 lb spring kit installed -- you will definitely find that to be spring gun nirvana -- thanks again for the quality videos !!!

Hey Steve

Since you have a TX why not get your hands on a HW97 in .177 and do a heads up comparison?

A little side by side with triggers, loudness levels, cocking effort, FPS and FPE at different ranges accuracy at 25 and 50 yards plus overall fit and finish?

It would be something a bunch of us would love to see in a review video.

Keep up the good work, your videos are spot on and truthful. And that's what counts in my book.

Thanks

Ray

The Fishscale is very nice. The bluing is great, and some of their Walnut is awesome. I've owned 3 and yeah, they are shooters right out of the box although I find many guys can make any spring gun shoot better with less twang at least, smooth out that shot cycle. So, what I really want to know, is, did you get her phone number? The one you're pointing at in the beginning of this video? You should have. Imagine that. Dating or marrying a woman who works for a great air gun company. When I worked at C.F Martin I owned several as defects were 1/2 price, employees got new at 1/2 price and on a payment schedule. Out of all of those? I miss The Sigma solid Rosewood back & side classical. Someone should make a stock out of solid Rosewood. Yeahhhh. That blank, I don't even want to think of the price.

WHOAH, OK, thought you were saying only a gas strut can be smooth. I actually had a cheap Nitro piston Trail that was amazing but cheap strut guns that actually shoot well with any hold are quite rare from my experience. Does air Arms make ANY gas strut guns?

Hi Steve
I am new and want to buy an air arms tx200 mk3
but which pellets are the best for good accurate shooting with the tx 200 mk 3
thank you gino

Every gun is different. There are good pellets that will work in each gun but to truly find the right pellet for the gun you own, you have to try a bunch of different manufacturers and sizes within the caliber you have. Even different weights depending on the power level of the gun. I have 3 TX200'S and I don't shoot the same pellets in any of them. Good place to start is JSB 8.4 and 10.34......H&N field target trophies 8.64 in 4.51 and 4.52mm sizes and the pellet that seems to shoot well (but not necessarily the best) in every .177 TX the Crosman Premier Lites 7.9 From there it's how far you want to go to find the "best" pellet for your gun

Hi Steve, nice looking rifle ya got there.I can relate to a few points you brought up. I started out with a Shanghie under-lever 22.Lots of fun. I shot it so much it now has the smoothest single stage trigger ever, lol. The point you bring up about the trigger, let's call it (ergonomics?) I really get. My hands r on the small side so wrist angle, grip, and trigger finger reach is really key in shooting comfortably, consistantly ,and enjoying it.Looking forward to the review on AEAC
