AEAC Reviews - Process & Authenticity

Hey Everyone,

Your trust is important to me, and it's occurred to me as of late that I may have some work to do validating aspects of my review process with the audience. Going forward, I'll be looking for opportunities to do a better job of transparently bolstering AEAC process & authenticity throughout my videos.

I began this new campaign today!!! ... with the Kalibrgun I'm currently working through. Without breaking video stream, I made the 50 & 100 yard post-grouping walk down to the target with the primary camera for the eight groups I shot at 50 yards, and the two groups I shot at 100 yards.

My hopes are that new approaches like these added in key areas across AEAC may ease any feelings of doubt among those in audience finding themselves mistrusting of the information I work so hard to self-learn and share.

Also, if I can help with any questions, please feel free to ask me publicly in this thread.

I will respond with transparency.

Best,

Steve

P.S. what you see below is my usual behind the scenes learning & results process to ensure I'm bringing forth reliable information to the community. Huge hours go into testing & learning my way through the information by myself before I ultimately string a video together and share my distilled down conclusive findings... which as most of ya know, normally comes along with 3 groups at 50 yards and 1-2 groups at 100 yds (for PCPs). Always, I share the consistent average of my findings, never just the very best.

All day Friday and all day today learning the Kalibrgun..

Well I’ve never doubted your honesty nor the validity of your evaluations. Hopefully you don’t have too much of that going on. I really enjoy your reviews even on rifles I don’t own or even plan to own. Your 2.5 hour question/answer session with PJ was awesome. I broke it into smaller segments and it kept me company on my treadmill workouts several times. I learned a lot even though I don’t have most of the rifles discussed. The tuning knowledge that you guys shared was fantastic and entertaining. Thank you.

There may be no remedy for those questioning whether a video is real. I have watched far too many hours and prefer to see a well edited video that shows the meaty parts: gun setup, brief overview of the evaluation process, a look at the range, show a few shots, then cut to the chase to show what worked, what didn't, anything unexpected along the way, how it compares to / trade offs vs. the competition. If you must show the walk to the target, please do it in ff so I don't have to reach for my ff button.

Steve,

Really appreciate the thought, impartiality and transparency that you put into your reviews. As I’m just entering this world of Airguns, I’m realizing that there are many on YouTube who seem to obviously be “sponsored” by certain manufacturers and others, such as yourself, who are not. And still others who are “aligned” with certain brands but who still carry a lot of authenticity because of their transparency and credibility/baseline experience. The two names that I follow consistently (because they seek to educate first and not to just “sell”) are you and Matt Dubber. Thank you for not talking down to us newbies and for helping to make this new found passion less overwhelming!! Keep up the great work.

Btw, just found out today that one of the three largest shooting meets (Pyramid Air Cup) is actually held just outside my hometown of Columbus. So, I’ll definitely be coming up to spectate and learn.

I'm always looking forward to your reviews Steve and know you put a lot of work into them. I hope you don't feel that it's not appreciated.

I feel appreciated. My audience & the industry are both generally very good to me.

This post is an effort to reach those who aren't a fan and perhaps get some Q&A dialogue going with them here in this thread. Sometimes it's just a matter of communication & understanding that fixes things between people.

Thank you Kenny.

It's not too much... perhaps a half dozen times a year (among 2.5 million YouTube views /year), I'll get a particularly unkind remark in the YouTube comments making reference to me being dishonest... and occasionally I'll stumble across one here on AGN.
