AEA Precision Challenger Bullpup .45

should have possession sunday according to fedex tracking.

i have looked around and cant find any video's of the 45cal, but plenty for the .50 bp.

watching Bin Tac's youtube, he says the only difference in the 45 & the 50 is the barrel and probe.

so the .50 makes over 600fpe with 300gr slugs, i hope that i can get at least 500fpe

with the .45........soon to find out !!!

Unless the tester is a midget, yes, that's a 32" barrel.

If you consider he deleted the "funny" shot, I'd say 5-6 good shots per fill is very good (many thanks to the long barrel). But with a bit of "B Staley" type (hammer-debouncer) tuning I'd expect to get 7-8 good shots at 10% less velocity; quite a good trade. And with a properly adjusted Huma reg, 10-15 very consistent shots.

Assuming that 32" barreled .45 is also available in a bullpup, what a temptation!

My 32" barreled AEA Challenger bullpup with Huma reg returns 34 regulated shots with 44.75 grain JSBs at 870 FPS, and averages 1 MOA five-shot groups at 100 yards.

My 45 bullpup is on the fed ex truck for delivery today, I've got some 215 ,205 and 200 gr slugs to test , hopefully my donnyfl adapter for the 357 will fit the shroud, already have the ronin 45-50 moderator. I'll shoot some base line shots over the chrony ,then take it apart to work on the trigger and clean up the barrel and compare hammer springs with what I have on hand ,will probably change the poppet spring for a lighter one for sure, oh happy days.

Got my 45 Challenger Bullpup fitted with an Atibal XS 1-10 today, but still waiting for the .457 slugs to arrive from NSA for testing and the like. I did find that this is a particularly odd sized caliber for simply buying round ball lead in the box stores too. So I guess I will have to just wait for the slugs to arrive...

Hornady .457 roundball , sold pretty much everywhere

Got my 45 sat , 940 fps average with 200 gr hunter supply hp , the 357 DFL will not work ,needs a 30mm X 18 mm for the Ronin to fit , took mine all the way apart , cleaned the barrel, and polished the trigger got it down to 5 1/2 lbs , the rifle is heavy 13 lbs bare , and loud ,gonna try and get to the range today ,too loud for back yard, there's a more detailed thread with pics on gta .

PS the barrel is only 30 in long ,which is plenty, there's just three baffles, so not alot so sound reduction, hopefully someone will come up with a better air stripper cause the one from the factory is not a good design, I drilled 4 extra holes in the shroud block at the end of the barrel and four vent holes at the rear of the shroud, didn't get a dB reading before so don't know if it did any good, but can't hurt.

Mine shows up today too. Confused because I watched a Mr hollowpoint video where he said the max length slug in the mag is .588 but then that other video says .71. Granted, one was the .50 and the other the non bullpup .45 version, but why the disparity? Doesnt make sense for the .45 to fit longer slugs than the .50

It may be possible that the particular test gun in the Mr. Hollowpoint video was not only a demo gun, but also had been built off of the block of the .30 caliber Challenger version and it's smaller magazine well area.

The current 45 Challenger Bullpup's magazine will accept a slug a maximum length of 0.710" long. It may not cycle well at this length due to drag and binding though.

You should find that your new Bullpup will have the longer breech/magazine well area.

I did find some round balls, just not at the big box store where I had first looked. I am going to have to powder coat them to get the size bigger to seal up the bore. After testing .457 ammo and seeing inconsistent numbers, I cleaned and lightly polished the barrel to slug it for size. Slugging it showed that it has a maximum internal diameter of 0.461"
