Tuning AEA Challenger .25 Slugs & Tuning

Okay. Got my first budget Airgun in a long time! I think the price of $430 got me to pull the trigger, plus the power for slugs. The gun is NOT perfect, BUT IT SHOOTS! I am very impressed so far and want to share.

Here are the 50 yard groups with heavy slugs! I tried about 20 different slugs, most shot okay- good. Heavy ones seemed to shoot better. The 47gr boat-tail solids, NSA , 43.2, Apex 44grain, all shot great!

Positives

Positive #1 This was only my 2nd time with the gun and 3/4" with most ammo. (Five shot groups) not very picky.

Positve #2- ALL of them fit in the magazine. This is rare, most guns turning a single shot when firing long heavy .25 lead.

Posive #3- Also, this is the first time I found a gun that shoot .25 boat-tail 47grains. It shoots them at 80fpe, and they have a bc of around over 0.17!

Positive #4- it is quiet for this power. The shroud and baffles are working. The noise is more from the reservoir vibrationing than the report. Easy to fix.

NEGATIVES

Negative #1- I Get a puff of air in my face where the locking screw locks in the transfer port adjustment. The o-ring could not cut it, so it replaced it and put a second one on the locking screw. This was a cheap quick fix.

Negative #2- The reservoir ringing. That noise associated with budget guns is really horrible. I'll be placing a vinyl tube into the reservoir. Another easy fix.

Negative #3- No readily available hammer spring adjustment. (Only the T.Port) the gun has a violent hammer hit, and that is always there whether you are shooting low power or super high power. But, I'll only be using it for High Power, so I cant complain.

Negative #4- soft wood stock. Only shot it twice and already have ugly dings all over it. Will probably paint it later.

So far soooooooo good! If your looking for a very high power cheap bullpup, consider this one! Hope it helped!
