Advice on buying a spotting scope

I'd like to get a new spotting scope. I currently have an old Bushnell 15-45x50 which I find very difficult to use, especially in its higher magnification ranges. This will be for use on a range. I'd like to be able to see a .22 pellet hole at 100-125 yards.

I noticed that Camera Land has a sale right now on on the Athlon Argos 20-60x85 HD.

Any opinions on this? Anything else you'd recommend? I'd prefer to under $400 if I can get what I need for that amount. Thanks in advance for your help.

☝Hmmm Not the best wording there.

How's about there are 3 big time scope optics China factories that make scopes under thousands upon thousands of different labels and Athlon is using the same factory as Bushnell in regards to their Chinese scopes and spotters. TheirJapan Cronus is from LOW and it's pretty damn good at least they have 25 yard focus unlike Bushnell 50 and 70 yard and the price is lop sided apparently going the opposite way in this Japan factory case but at least not double or up to 4x or 5x the difference like the China factory.

That better-?

Thanks for all the great info!

How about something used off ebay? Here's a Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 20-60x80, $300. Seemed to get good review "back in the day." No longer made. $300. Free shipping & returns. Not sure what this is worth.

And here's a used Bausch & Lomb shipped from Japan, $240 shipped. Shipping costs make it impractical to send back. The numbers on this one are rather confusing.

OMG DUDE-!!! What's up with you man do you REALLY enjoy spending way more than you need to for the same items-?

ANOTHER EBAY SELLER WOULDA TOOK $45.00 AND $76 FOR THAT SAME SPOTTER THE TIME I POSTED DEAL OF A CENTURY POST. YOU EVEN PARTICIPATED ON THAT THREAD TOO-!!!

You are posting them at more than 3x to 4x what I originally posted them for.

https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/spotting-scope-deal-of-the-century/page/3/?view=all

The worn looking one has been relisted for $48 plus shipping he messaged me back then on first posting he would take $45. I would offer $30 to see what happens since shipping is on the buyer. Its only cosmetic wear outside due to age. It's super clear and nicer than the Trophy I suggested.

Original listings at the SAME TIME Deal of the century post-

This is gone-

Here’s an alternative. Put a Sightron S3 10-50x scope on your rifle, then you won’t need a spotting scope.

Did you get your DVOR Sightron SIII I posted the $699 Heads up on-?

Yes I did, but after 6 weeks of waiting. I wasn't about to cancel since I like that scope and I needed it for my new Vudoo.
