Adjusting FX No Limit Rings

beeser,
I mounted my scope using no-limit rings. The scope was optically centered. The rings were in the lowest position, and the scope reticle was correctly leveled. I then used a feeler gauge... snugging and loosening the rings, l was able to zero the scope at my desired distance without elevation or windage turret adjustments. I raised the rear .031". I got lucky.
An adjustable cheek rest helped...no need to adjust both no-limit rings to get the scope to the correct height. I enjoy the process....I use feeler gauges often.

Motive410 - Thanks for confirming that my use of the feeler gauge wasn't without merit. I was sighting in at 100 yds and was close to my POA raising the rear .020". I plan to do some work on it tomorrow. Since the scope was brand new I assumed it was optically centered. Is there a way of telling for sure?

Dirte - I'll post a pic of the setup tomorrow.

beeser,
The easiest way to get close to center, since the scope is already mounted, would be the mirror method. (Small mirror) You can google " how to center a rifle scope". The mirror method, turning scope in v-blocks or loose rings, or counting turret turns are the common ways.
I think the mirror method works best with magnification lowest, and parallax to infinity.....not sure...been a while.

I didn't get to shoot today because of rain but here's the pic of the RAW and Sightron SIII scope as promised.

"beeser"I don't know if this makes sense but wouldn't it be a good feature for scope rings to have a micro adjustment knob? The adjustment on the rear and solid pivot on the front?
Likely they worry about movement over time. The FX rings are kind of a air gun thing, but imagine them on a 50BMG taking that kind of thumping over and over and still not moving.
