I recently purchased an RTI Prophet. The regulator on this gun was set on 150# when I received it and I would like to lower it to 130#. The reg on this gun is a type similar to those found on aftermarket Airforce ones. My question is: Does the air need to be dumped before adjustments are made?

If is the type on altaros and huma regulators then going down yes going up no.  Going down under pressure can squash the regulator seat.

Hopefully if you spent that much money for a RTI Pophet you also have a compressor and dumping all the air out should not be an issue.

To be safe you should dump all the air.

To be safer you should read the manual.

SqrlHntr, Thanks for the video info. That's what I was looking for. Unfortunately, this gun doesn't come with a manual that covers this. I know that most regulator guns require dumping the air for adjustments and that would not be a major problem. However, it's good to know things like this about every gun you own.
