Adapter Needed

I have an XTN night sight and it will mount on any rifle with a picatinny rail. However there are times when I'll just want to use the scope to investigate what's happening out in the fields. For that, not wanting to hold a rifle, I want to put the scope on a tripod. The tripods use a 1/4 X 20 mounting bolt that goes into the base of a camera, scope, etc. to hold it. Unless I want to drill and tap a hole in the bottom of my scope I need an adapter. Talked with AOA and Utah Airguns and none of their people were aware of such an adapter. Anyone out there that can help with this.
If I just had a chunk of the rail that is attached to the rifle, and if it was thick enough, I could drill and tap that for the tripod part of the attachment and then stick the scope on that rail. The scope doesn't know if it's a rifle or a tripod.

You might have one of these in your parts bin. It's an adapter to go over a QD stud to mount pic accessory. It came with my UTG bipod.

place over tripod mounting bolt, use a washer and nut to clamp it on. At least it's free if you have one around til you find a better solution.
