Accurate, inexpensive, springer with adj. iron sights - what do you recommend?

A PCP is a big buy-in for your first air rifle. I think an HW50 is still perfect for what you’ll be doing. At 7-12 ft distance I think a .177 HW30 is plenty unless rattle snakes are tougher than I thought.

pistolero... I agree on the HW50!

This wouldn't be my first air rifle, though. I've had a Brocock Bantam .25, Red Wolf .22, and now have a Red Wolf .22HP. I'm already set up with a pair of Omega Air cylinders for refilling PCP rifles. It's just that my RW .22HP is not set up to shoot at any distance less than about 25' or so. And it is not very maneuverable (quite long and quite heavy). That's why I was considering a smaller, lighter springer with iron sights.

After considering all the suggestions and various options, I think I may go another direction for the once-a-year rattler problem rather than buy a springer just for that purpose.

In looking at the Weihrauch models, though, I think I would really enjoy an HW30 or an HW50... they look like they would be quite accurate for closer range paper punching, a lot of fun to plink with, and all around VERY handy. For not a lot of money! I think that an HW30S Deluxe in .177 will come home with me from AoA one of these days. Winner, winner... chicken dinner, in my view.
