About this forum

Look at the different sections and you will see a "Springers, Pumpers, CO2, and Vintage" Section. Post your question there. I don't know much about other forums as I only pretty much reside here. Folk here are very nice (for the most part) and everyone is very helpful and welcoming.

Consider what you whant to do with your gun when you ask, have a budget in mind, etc. You can also try the "Search" feature. More than likely your question has already been asked and you will find a trove of information if you just search.

Welcome on board! .....and start working overtime, you will need the money.

The other thing you could do is call one of the dealers like Airguns of Arizona and talk to the sales people. They might have a "deal" for you. A used gun is not a bad way to get started. Don't buy really cheap stuff from the big sporting goods dealers. You're not going to be happy. I just purchased a HW 30 with scope mounts and moderator from AOA. Very happy with that gun but there certainly are others. If you are like me and try to save a few bucks I'm typically not happy You're going to have to spend some money to get something worth having. A gun costing $150 isn't likely to do it for you.

I have a buddy that has a Gamo bone collector and he loves it. I've shot it and am happy with it and am looking to buy a Gamo whisper mach 1. I look at reviews on you tube and then the comments. Some say Gamo sucks blah blah and another says same about anything you look at so it's confusing. For what I want to do I think it's just what I want but would like some input. Thanks for the replies.

We're a bunch of airgun nuts here. Buy the Gamo and it you like it great. Worst thing is the trigger. I'm spoiled with guns that have triggers that cost twice or more of what you'll spend on the Gamo rifle. If you don't like it or you catch the air gun bug you haven't wasted much money. They sell them by the boat load so some one must be happy (enough). I'll tell you want if you could shoot the gamo and follow that up with a nice FWB or HW I'd be willing to bet you'd try to find the bucks to buy the more expensive gun.

I walked your same path. Game Whisper mk1 for a weekend until the scope crosshairs wire broke. The barrel flexed as I cocked it. The TWANG.Trigger sub-standard..

Then went RWS 34. Never missed that Gamo. Impress your buddy. Let him shoot your new gun that is better than his. -subjective opinion. Find a price point that is comfortable, and buy better. I still get out my 34 panther pro compact and enjoy even though I have 5 high end PCPs. This sport/hobby consumes you. Leap forward a few steps and look RWS, Beeman/Weihrauch, Walther, FSB sport, and many other springer brands. By the way, welcome!

Wow,all I wanted to do was buy a more powerful pellet gun than the two old crossmans I have so I could take out a squirrel or a big black bird instead of just pissing them off. Couple forums later telling me how I'm messing up and here I am. My gun will be here in a few days then I'll know if I messed up as bad as everyone says. I'm with the guy that said they sell them by the boat load so someone must like them. Btw,I don't use scopes just open sites Thanks for your comments. Art

" Just got on here today and was wanting some input on a few break barrels that I am considering. "

and folks got OT the rigs you are considering, huh.

You should enjoy the Gamo. Indeed many are sold in the big box stores. Not sure why you need more power ( or what your "old crosman's" might be ) , long range?

Most on the forum acknowledge in airguns accuracy is the ticket not so much power unless your into pre-charged rifles/pistols. Inside 35 yards an FWB300 would have plenty of accuracy and power for squirrel.

The RWS34 was suggested due to it's overall reputation which is well desired and as it is $50-80 less than the gamo mach1 it is THE rifle to recommend to friends, new people and folks who want a life long easy shooting ( a ramed magnum springer wont be all that smooth) dependable accurate shooter with a great trigger, but there all fun so do give us a complete write up when it's in your hands..
