AA Ultimate Sporter vs RAW HM1000

raw are mainly bench/target guns ? (corect me if im wrong)

any reason you have limited yourself to those two guns ?

by "forgiving gun" do you mean a long overall platform with a good trigger ?

in my mind the aa 510 us is a bit overpriced english gun .... and without a reg !! but having owned a 510 extra fac a couple years ago i can say its fairly accurate within the normal hunting ranges .

have you considered the hw100 ? superbly accurate and probably best magasin system on the market :) (only downside to them is that you cant get them in 25.cal and that you ought to stay away from the full length versions in 177 , as they produce to mutch velocity)

I know you are asking about two particular models but, I would go with
Sam Yang or Evanix in .22, .25, 9 mm or .50 all very effective and at a low cost. Get something short and robust but deadly accurate, If you must have a RAW HM1000X just remember it will be in the bush and will get dinged up. Check the Hunting threads and look for Manny, Tofazfu. - Hunter

I have been looking at both of these guns in the .25 caliber. The Airgun Gear Show did a review on the Ultimate Sporter and although he liked it there were several drawbacks. The stand out drawbacks were the fill port and the location of the safety on the trigger. Although the stock was cool looking his came with several blemishes (not perfect). I would assume they would have sent him one of their best models. The high point and why he was keeping the rifle for himself was the accuracy. Air Arms is known for their amazing accuracy. Shot count was low.
There is little information on the TM 1000, however, everyone seems to be saying these guns are extremely accurate for benchrest. If you check the last AOA benchrest competition, I believe several were in the top 10 finishers. I could be wrong but I think a TM 1000 won. I have also heard that these rifles come out of the box shooting great so a custom tune may not be necessary. It may be with just a particular dealer. I would be interested in thoughs that have one to know if this is true. With the new carbon fiber tanks the guns can weigh about two pounds lighter. I would assume this gun has a larger shot count than the Ult. Spot. but I have not read any information on this as of yet.
There are several threads of guys just getting a TM1000 and I hope they will continue to post their take on this gun.
I hope others chime in on this thread especially the gentleman who has the lefty model. I am having the same delema as you. I like the AA's models but the valve, safety, and shot count are drawbacks. Best of luck in your decisions.

I would like to hunt any thing from rats to raccoons. I would prefer a .22 version due to ammo availability and what I mean by forgiving is that little mistakes aren't exaggerated. The main reason I chose these two models is the stock color I really like the layered grey laminate stock. I know the ult sport is not grey but that is the kind stock I like. If any one knows of better suited guns that have the grey/layered laminate stock I would love to hear of them. Also any good guns that don't really match are ok. Guns that match would be preferred. Thanks.

I still think you should be comparing the RAW HM line to the Ultimate Sporter. More of and apples to apples comparison. The Air Arms is a hunting gun and the TM 1000 is a competition target gun. It is also heavier at 10.5 lbs vs AA 8 lbs. Before adding a scope. Also there are lots of options and combinations that are not all listed on their web site. May have to call. They can do custom mods too.

as stated above , racoons are some real tough little buggers , and i doubt you would get a clean kill with a 22 cal air rifle.

grey laminate stock .. hw100 do come in grey laminate btw ;) hehe but then again it is not made in higher cal than 22 .

aa510 us is made in 25 , but shotcount is very low ... if you chose that gun you no doubt should get a small carbon bottle to acompany you on hunting exqursions :)
personaly , the trigger safety dident bother me when i owned my 510 extra fac ... but the unregulated action and the stiff"ish trigger had me selling it pretty quickly.
