AA S-510 75 yard vs 80 yard groups

It has been my experience with all of my air rifles that there is a maximum yardage for accuracy. In the case of my Air Arms S-510, using a JSB Jumbo Heavy 18.13 pellets, that range is 75 yards. The groups fired below were with an approx 8 mph cross wind. Notice that the groups opened up nearly exactly 1" between 75 yards and 80 yards. After shooting on paper at each distance, I followed up with 10 shots shooting at a 2" spinner. at 75 yards the result was 10 x 10. At 80 yards, it was 7 x 10.

There is no substitute for putting them on paper to know the limitations.

I had a very special experience when I was choosing the perfect pellet for one of my rifles, shoot groups at 50 meters and they were perfect, then at 75 meters and increased more than 3 inches ... In that moment i decided to install my high speed camera and record the shots through the scope and I realized that just past the 50 meters, the pellets made spirals.....the advice is that when you select the pellet that you think is the best for your rifle, submit it to a final test by recording the shots at high speed at different distances.
