AA FTP900 OR STEYR LG110, Which one the best for FT and HFT Competitions?

Dear Friends,
I need a new Air Rifle and looking for new competition level high quality Air Rifle.. And nowadays, I have two candidate for buying my new Prince :)) One of them AirArms HFT900 and the other STEYR LG 110 FT...What are the most favorite ideas and recommendations about these two famous, well-known rifles? I'll be happy to read your ideas before making my final decision to buy one..
Is there anybody have a review about these rifles? And what do you thing about these rifles? Advantages and disadvantages of them? Thanks..

MOD EDIT: DISCUSSION MOVED TO TARGET SHOOTING.

The Styer has an incredible trigger. The report is a little sharp but all in all it is a very sophisticated PCP. The balance is exceptional as well. If I had to choose between the LG and AA the clear winner in my opinion is the Steyr. The Steyr has a better balance to me. I hold the opinion that gun balance is critical in FT. Just to muddy the waters a little for you, I would also look at the Rapid Air Weapons TM1000 FT Martin is building some exceptional rifles and his customer service is top notch. If all 3 were on the table I would pick the RAW. I like the solid feel, the smooth cocking lever and trigger is butter. When you call Martin it's like talking to an old friend.

Hi
I have a Steyr LG 110 FT Connect 2013 model. If you need a rifle for Field target shooting, there is no equal. If you go to the worlds ft, biggest majority will be Steyrs. Theses rifles are the best. Mine shoot sub 1/4" groups at 50 meters. I will post a pic when I get home. I get anything from 60 - 70 shots per fill. It is just perfect for shooting FT.

I have shot the new AA FTP 900. The rifle is good, but to my experience not anything close to the Austrian Steyr. Like I tell everyone, I don't like my Steyr rifles, I love them.

Very thanks for all nice and valuable ideas, recommendations..we DON'T have too much alternative Air Rifle Models and Brands for buying from a Hunting Stores.. In TURKEY, it is possible to buy STEYR or AA FTP900, but finding RAW impossible.. :-(( There is no any importer for RAW..
I checked the official Web pages of 2015 WORLD HFT CHAMPIONSHIPS and noticed that many of the competitors prefered especially either STEYR or AA FTP900.. And at the end of championship first and third places for AA FTP900.. I asked to my friends for their recommendations before writing here but some of them advice STEYR , some AA FTP900. I couldn't make my final decision yet..

Both rifles are capable of extremely accurate shots. The main factor in the equation is you. Only you can decide which of these two excellent rifles suits you best, it is not a case of one size fits all. Try them both out at your local shooting club if possible and make the decision a more personal one, it is a large expense to lay out on what someone else prefers.

I also have a Steyr LG 110 FT Connect 2013 model and I love it.
I have also shot the FTP900 ... its a stunning looking gun and it shot very well, but it did not fit me very well, even after I adjusted everything I could to get it to fit, it felt top heavy. my suggestion is adjust, hold, and shoot each one and make your decision based off of that

I have one more reason why you should get the Steyr over the AA . That is try to work on your air arms rifle, try to swap out an o-ring, or just try to take off the barrel. Not that easy. You have to ship it all the way to England to get it serviced.

Now, the Steyr, is super easy to work on. I can have my whole gun disassembled in less than 5 minutes. Plus it comes with all the tools to work on your gun. If my regulator breaks, or anything breaks, I get on the horn with steyr service department and they ship me a new part, and it's at my door in like 2-3 weeks. Quickly enough to make it to my next shoot.

that's why I don't like my Steyrs . . . I LOVE IT VERY VERY MUCH.

ok thanks 🙏 a bunch

read your post and asked more questions up here in Canada, was trying to buy a FTP but found a Steyr lg110 ft, spoke to the guy on the phone,

went to visit him the next day and bought it, I am very pleased. the owner took the barrel off in 14 seconds, showed me how to charge barrel, then showed me the quick fill

he bought for it, the videos on Steyr website, and man what a nice rifle

pour yourself a drink, pat yourself on the back YOU MADE ME BUY THE RIGHT RIFLE. THANKS MAN. if I could send you a Xmas present I would

thanks. thanks. thanks

Steyr LG110 is a proven field target air rifle. I would not buy the Air Arms FTP 900. It will be replaced by a newer version called XTI50. I would wait until that version comes out and try it out.

I was really impressed with the prototype I shot at the Worlds in England. It was lighter and the barrel was free floated.

Bulent1962:

The best gun will be the gun that you shoot more comfortable and the gun that gives you the most confidence in your shooting...

I would advice you to ask fellow shooters to let you shoot their guns so you get the "Feel" of that particular platform, shooters are generally very helpful when you ask them for this kind of advice.

Any of those guns are excellent and so are many other platforms...I have a Steyr LG-110, Anchutz 9003 and 9015, RAW's TM-1000, FWB's 700 and 800 and 2 Impacts..l.In the past I had a Walther that I passed to my son and out of these guns all but the Impacts are excellent platforms for FT...I kind of like wood stocks for FT and I stocked my Steyr with a custom wooden stock; I usually shoot the Steyr only because I can repair it in the field or completely overhaul it is 15-20 minutes and I carry the entire overhaul kit including vlve and an extra regulator with the tools to do it in my pocket or carrying bag; to me this fact is very important when you travel.

Both Anschutz and Steyr have a very nice feel and the RAW's have outstanding precision, but the precision required for FT is there with any of these guns and the success in the match depends 100% on the shooter.

Best regards,

AZ

between those 2, Steyr all the way. I have a few Steyrs and love em, I also have a Thomas thats a great shooter and I love it also. But between your choices, Steyrs are great guns that are all over the world with shooters winning alot of competitions with them. And if you have an issue with your Steyr, theyre a tons of guys shooting them and willing to offer up parts to fix your gun. Plus theyre way easy to work on and shoot great...BC
