Went for a hike out in a new area about 5 miles from my house. There is a good crust on the snow right now. Easy for me and small animals to get around. I saw 2 hare hunting a very thick pine stand. It was only when I pushed the edge that I got a shot in the semi open aspen stand. Dropped the hare with a chest shot from about 20 yards. 21gr H&N.

Also found 2 wolf deer kills. They have a hard time with this stlye of snow. They break through the crust and get overcome.

Lastly I found a porcupine den and a few trees that it had been feeding on. No luck finding the porky.
