A small stock modification makes for a very practical improvement.

With the weather being kinda crappy today and couldn't really get out to do much, I went to tinkering. I ended up doing something that I've seen before, but just got around to it myself. On my 34 Classic, the wood forearm extends past and covers up the barrel hinge screw. So, in order to tighten it if it needs to be, or to even check the tightness, you have to take the rifle out of its stock. That is not very maintenance friendly. So I took the stock off today and sanded out a portion of the forearm to allow access to the hinge screw. Then I applied a small amount of wood stain so it would blend well. It turned out near perfect. Just thought I'd share it.....thanks. TR

Thank you fellas for all the compliments. I felt really good myself about how it turned out. You only get one shot at doing something like this. So you better get it right...LOL

GoldenstateAIRGUNer.......spysir is correct. No real issues with the barrel hinge screw coming loose. However, I didn't want to have to remove the rifle from the stock whenever I did want to check the tightness. I shoot a lot, so I want the ease of access to check when I want to.

seven08.....Thats one way to do it! There is always more than one way to skin a cat. I think the way you did yours looks good as well.

Appreciate it.....
