A newbie with a question...

Hello friends,
I have a spring rifle but I think soon to go to the PCP ...
In this connection, I read a lot and watch many video clips and I wonder if for amateur target shooting (50 - 100 ( - 100+) yards / yards) and plinking I need these items:
1. Pellet Gage;
2. Napier Power Pellet Lube;
3. Pellet Seater.

I understand it is for personal use but at least to know if it is used massively ...

Thanks in advance!

Do you "need" those things for what you're doing? I'd say, no. But I have to say, that since I bought a gunsmithing / jewelers scale and started at least sorting my pellets per weight and shooting groups with the same weight pellet, the flyers I routinely experienced before have diminished greatly.

Then, this week I started sorting those same pellets with the Pellet Gage for head size. Before I got the gage, I could easily tell my pellets were different head sizes, as some I could slip into my springers breach with little to no resistance while others took more effort to insert and seat.

I spent a few hours yesterday shooting a group of pellets I'd previous only sorted by weight that my gun seems to like the best, but this time with the addition of being sorted by head size. I now know what head size those loose fitting pellets are and what head size my gun seems to be shooting the best.

Granted, my backyard range is limited to 25 yards and I haven't had a chance to get it out to the range for some 50 yard and beyond work, but so far, I'm getting dime size groups with little to no flyers out of my AA Pro Sport.

I may not spend the time head sizing pellets just to plink with, but I'll definitely keep some around for shooting pests, zeroing the scope and anything that requires the most accuracy I can get.

I haven't been using the commercial pellet lubes. The furniture polish technique I learned from a forum member here seems to be doing just fine.

The pellet seater I have is a thumb.

Thank you friends,
I also took a digital scale (yesterday I got it). I tested about 30 pieces of three types of JSB pellets and saw the differences. I will use the scale to sort pellets in the future, but with regard to the other things I wanted to hear opinions. Still, I'm going to shoot amateur on paper targets and plinking, not to go competitions.

I know Pellet Gage and Napier Power Pellet Lube will be good but you know how it is ... it's all money (especially if you do not have it ...).
