A Great Experience with FX USA

My FX Impact recently started dropping off on power. It was down to shooting around 500fps with everything maxed out. I replaced the breech seal with no improvement. The rifle is right at 30 days old, so I contacted the dealer for some tech support on troubleshooting it. I had already run all the trapped via the forums...etc. The dealer said they did not have in house tech support, and would get me set up for a RMA, and gave me the contact info for FX USA. I called FX and talked with one of their customer service guys, and he set me up with a return shipping label and said he would let me talk to a technician if I wanted to also troubleshoot it some more myself. I did...really didn't want to give the rifle up for a few weeks while it was in transit and getting rerpaired.

He passed me on the tech support and Ernest Rowe got on the phone. I recognized his voice from watching many of his service and repair vedeos he has done for the Impact.

As any good troubleshooter does he started quizing me on the rifle, then shortly says he is pretty sure he knows what is wrong with the rifle. He says I can send it in and they would fix, or asked if I was mechanical...I said sure I have "The Knack" and would rather fix it myself verses the wait and shipping. He explained what he thought was wrong, and what needed to be done. Sure enough he dead on right!! The Hammerseat (see FX parts diagram part C1) had backed off the threaded rod it attaches to which was shortening the stroke of the valve. I took the hammerseat off, cleaned the threads on the rod, put some new loctite on and reinstalled and got it fullly threaded on. Rifle is back to being a hot rod shooting machine!! Great support from FX USA. They are really lucky having a guy like Ernest working for them and their customers.
