Thanks for the kind words. After steaming out about a thousand dents I actually had very little sanding to do. The tedious part was applying about 20 thin coats of Napier's London Oil to it and letting each coat completely dry then knocking each coat back with 0000 steel wool soaked with rubbing oil. With age the wood will get richer and richer looking.

Thank you Mike. I hold you comment as high praise. Also, thanks for all your help guiding me along the restoration path. It now shoots as good as it looks. Took a little effort and time to get the leather piston seal properly fitted and the breech seal installed right but it really turned out well.

Bill, it was my pleasure, I always learn a lot when working through the details of someone else's rifle, LOL! The classic "M" stock is a great all-round design functionally speaking, and has really lovely lines and proportions.
Though I confess I'm a bit envious now that your only HW 55 looks better than any of mine...!

That gets a big WOW from me. Nice treasure! The only thing that would excite me more is if it hand a double trigger, but doubt that came with one due to its rarity/vintage. I just love vintage 10 meter rifles having set triggers (double triggers) they just seem to ooze quality - yet I have never owed one!

Thanks for your reply. I do own an HW55M DST. Also I have an LG55T DST if you recall. I'm certainly fortunate to have acquired them. They are a hoot to shoot!! Lol.
That 55T Beech is certainly a rare girl. It's a smooth shooter.
