89 birds in 3 hours

Met up with a few local gents (actually 1 local & 1 visiting) for a short hunt. Lots of cows but not a dairy, I think it's called a feed lot?

Anyways Chuck @longbrownbox was an awesome host, and Scott was cool as ever. I see these guys every year at EBR.

We were out for less than 3 hours & took care of 89 birds.

The first half I shot my Edgun R5 LR. What a hammer. 900 fps with 25 cal 34g pellets. Get this the regulator is only set at 120 bar!

The second half I shot my Redwolf .22 HP. This thing is a laser & the 25g pellets hit with authority.

Scott was shooting his FX Verminator & he rarely missed. We were shooting out of Chucks truck & the FX was clearly easier to handle. The Matador R5 LR is pretty large & single shot, while the Redwolf is ridiculously long.

After a little pest control we stopped by the local BBQ joint for some killer grinds.

Had a great time with these young guys. If y'all dont know Chuck he's the one (on the right) making these classy leather pellet pouches... the Misenheimer pouch.

We had a great time & I look forward to doing it again, and again, and...

Thanks for taking us along, Michael... had to be a blast! I need to move to Texas!!!

Can't imagine shooting the RW from a truck, what a challenge. What's up with the string hanging off the wolf? Wind gage??

Yeah, not my first choice for tight quarters. But Chuck had some nice foam blocks that went over the window to rest on. Must've looked funny sticking out so far.

He also let me borrow a super fancy wind indicator. My weather meter showed winds 3-10mph. The indicator was a nice reference for gusts & direction.
