7mm pellets .284 inch

Bc is different when it comes to subsonic bullet shape I agree that in PB 7 mm is hard to beat when it comes to bc but under 1100 fps or subsonic I've read that pointed nose bullets don't have a big advantage over flat nose 7 mm is quite large to and would be a big bore and use a heavy bullet to get the high bc because they would need be flying fast. There are some 6mm guns that people have built and the heavy 6 mm can have some pretty high bc around 105 gr to 115 gr bullets some of GTA members have built 6mm guns

Just my opinion but 7mm pellets wouldn't provide enough extra BC to make it worth the manufacturers effort.

If they could make the 22 cal or 25 cal pellets with heavier weight and higher BC fly well that would help. The 34gr 22 cal pellets don't do the best at longer distances. And 25 cal 40gr don't exist.

In slugs 7mm could be a thing but. 257 gives a higher shot count per fill due to being lighter weight. I like the idea of going 6mm with slugs. I should research that. Anybody have a link to it?

Only advantage in 7mm is it's ballistics. In heavy bullets usually from 120g to 175g +..but I see no gain because for heavy bullets you will need 4500psi .. n the lighter bullets non are better than those aviable in. 257 .. it has not been possible to use accurately the 257-418 a 100g Spitzer bt .. because of twist rate.. not even in 1-10 .. I don't think in airguns by weight that it could be a better bullet for long range because if we find the twist rate it needs it could still be shot at 1000fps with a 3300psi fill ..a comparable 7mm would be from 145g n a 308 from 175g both needing 4000psi + in order to have enough power to push them....257 rules...but I agree with wimpanzie .. .22 is the caliber I use the most..
