700cc 300 bar CF bottle on FX Impact

Gotcha. Thanks for the help.

The pic off the talon tun es sight has threads all the way down to the nut. thanks for the pic.

Here is a pic for others to reference.

Link and or part number for the higher pressure valve please? Also, anyone doing them in stainless presently? Huma?

As far as i can tell, the parts aren't listed in the impact m3 diagrams. There are valve parts listed under the bottle link on the fx usa site but they are separated down completely component wise.

I just emailed fx usa and told em what i needed. If your going to run 300 bar make sure you ask for m3 300bar valves.

I ran across a few sites that offered tanks with m3 compatible valves while searching. its tough to find things in stock and tougher to confirm m3 300 bar compatibility. Thats why i just ordered from fx.

Dont think i seen any stainless options but the inter web is big....lol

Best fittings has them in Stainless plus they are M3 compatible. Directly from them, they are 300bar rated as well

I've had problems with the best fittings valves before. Their machining is indeed very nice but the valve stems were too long and I had to adjust all of them. The official FX valves are about half the price at europe airguns and also fit immediately so I will stick to those.

Part number of the valves is FX7024.

Actually most CF tanks' periodic (5 year) test is at 5/3 of Safe Working Pressure. In our case for a 4500 psi (310 bar) bottle, that is 7500 psi. The bottle is filled with water and then pressurized. So in addition to no leaks, there is also an expansion or elasticity (REE) requirement, which is printed on the bottle. If it takes more fluid to achieve the test pressure, it fails. If it leaks, it fails. Pressure is held for one minute plus time to inspect.

Can anyone comment on how the 700 bottles hold up with use?

They can handle the same as other bottles ;)

Just got a message yesterday that there is a new version of 700cc bottle coming out next to the current version. It's slightly thicker, shorter and lighter. It should be in soon so I can give them a try :)

Link to where u get the 700mm bottles and info

There is a new 700cc bottle that they are making now:

Also got one of their 300cc 300 bar bottles to test. Here's a picture where it is compared to the 300cc 250 bar innocom bottle:

And the two 700cc bottles mounted up on the benchrest beast :)

The new 700cc bottles have a slightly bigger diameter and are slightly shorter and lighter. The specs of the bottles compared:

CRPIII-55-0.7-30-T is the smaller diameter bottle, CRPIII-58-0,7-30-T is the one on my pictures. I don't know if they are already available for order but if that's not the case yet they most likely will be soon.

Interesting, and good to know. Do you have both? If so, please look closely at the shoulder area and compare there as well. The differences between the old style 700cc and 580cc are significant. I'd be curious to see if the new one is more like the older 700 or the 580?

A 700cc on a Crown with a 600mm barrel. Alsafe bottle OD just a tiny bit less than the FX bottles. Doesn't look bad at all. And... my first impression is the Crown now giving me a tiny bit better balance. (when shooting it 'free standing')

Can you fill up the 700cc bottle at 300 bars? Or 250 bars only? Thank and sorry i am new :)

Just now seen your post.

Never say sorry because ‘you re new’.
Never say sorry for asking a question.
However, it would be nice if you briefly told everyone who you are and what you do with airguns.

In response to your question :

Yes, the bottle itself can be filled up to 300 bar.
For,
Yes, bottle itself is 300 bar rated. Also applied bottle valve is 300 bar rated.
But,
No, you can t just shoot the Crown from 300 bar on. That Crown reg's delrin piston wouldn t take that too well, nor would the spring cups i guess. Certainly not in the long run.

Been looking for ways to get around that.
First went looking for a bottle connector with built-in regulator, as in M3.
Asked FX if that were possible to provide such bottle connectors/regulator for those Crown shooters using 300 bar bottle valves.
Alas...too much hassle for them so it seems.

Somewhat later asked Huma if they could provide some help.
Huma replied that 'reworking' their own M3 substitute bottle connector might be a possibility.
But since the Huma bottle connector with built-in reg is quite 'larger' than the FX original, this would result in the 700cc bottle sticking out of the Crown's wood stock foregrip end. Not practical, nor aesthetically pleasing either.
So Huma's willingness turned out no solution either. "Sigh".

Subsequently,
have bought 2 spare FX regs (latest model with brass piston) to experiment with. Intention to go using somewhat ‘thicker’ belleville cups and see how steady ES comes out once above 230-250 bar filling pressure. If spread stays below 3 m/s over longer shotstrings, i ll be somewhat surprised.
But,
That part i ll never know for sure if i don t try it. And i just know it ll be eating me, i ll always be wondering "what if...."
Yes even though if today I m reckoning little chance the Crown will ever be running consistent velocities with low ES in the 260-300 bar filling range, with just one reg installed. There's no conviction like the own convicton derived from practice.

So went looking for some serious belleville cups, fitting the FX reg.
Just recently found out that Huma has such 'stronger' belleville rings. Will include them in my next order and then start my trial and error series.

Should my +250 bar attempts ultimately not deliver the hoped-for results (on one reg), I 'll just go back to 230-240 bar starting pressure, using one of the new model (brass piston) regs, including the factory belleville rings, all brightly polished and new.

In the meantime:

Anyone here on AirgunNation any suggestions? Remarks?

Shoot at will.
