4x32 Scope: $7

OK, it's billed as a X-Bow scope, but it should work fine for airguns. Several reviewers at GTA state that they've put hundreds of rounds through their springers without any ill-effects. For $7 it might be worth the risk. I ordered 2. Several eBay sellers claim that this scope is made by Hawke, but I've not been able to find any confirmation of that claim.

Horton 4x32 Mult-A-Range Crossbow Scope completely changes the success rate of bow hunting. The five crosshairs in the scope are set for a different distance depending on your model of crossbow. If you pair this scope with a rangefinder you will know the distance and exactly what crosshair to use at that distance. Sight this crossbow scope in and you cannot fail in the field, unless mother nature beats you. Mother nature make this scope useless because this scope is coated so that it is waterproof, fog proof, and shock proof. Like in rifle scopes, this scope is specifically designed to withstand recoil from your crossbow. If mother nature is trying to mess with you there are windage and elevation adjustments. The lightweight, compact design of this crossbow scope means less weight to carry in the field compared to competitor scopes.

That is what several people at GTA have pointed out. Crossbows are not exactly easy duty for a scope, though I don't know that people fire hundreds of bolts from a crossbow like how we shoot our air rifles. If we had to retrieve our pellets after we shot them, things would probably be very different. One poster reported shooting hundreds of rounds from a nitro-piston gun. Another said that after 6 shots his broke...it's $7. Less than the price of a movie ticket. It's worth the risk to me.

I had a friend that started a whole house remodeling project because he tried to replace a light bulb...he said it had to be the most expensive lightbulb in history. He twisted the bulb and the socket spun with it. He tried to fix that and realized that it was an OLD type of wiring that wasn't safe after 100+ years. He started to rewire and realized that the plumbing needed to be replaced...might as well do it all while the plaster is being cut out...wait...there's no insulation anywhere in the walls...pull down all the walls, do the insulation, wiring, plumbing, drywall...crap, the windows need to be replaced as well if we're putting in insulation. Paint the walls. The hardwood floors were destroyed while doing the drywall and painting. Might as well refinish those. The yard was destroyed having all the stuff delivered. Put in a brick paver courtyard. OK...let's sell the house now.

The scope came yesterday. i replaced the redpoint on the Weihrauch HW 45 with it today, and will have some shots later on. If I am satisfied with the performance it will probably be mounted on the Ranchero when it arrives, about three weeks from now - I hope.

MOD: got the scope sighted in at 25 m. Standing with the HW 45 resting on my left bent arm give me a perfect eye distance to the scope. Very distinkt crosshairs, but on a pistol at short distances that is not negative at all.

As Bill Clinton said, "I feel your pain." Went to fix a bad electrical connection and found the worst wiring job know to man kind that did not burn the house to the slab. I am working on that and have 11 new windows ready to be installed. I paid to have the house inspected before I bought it as I had zero experience remodeling. A few years and a dozen technical DIY books later I am now the family electrician. I am a decent carpenter and not bad at plumbing. I could choke the life out of that inspector.....

"Gunnertrones"...By the way. We would be pleased to see a pic of your Marauder pistol with the scope mounted when you are ready for it ztirffritz.

Here you go:

I just got the gun today. I haven't even had a chance to shoot it yet. I might go to the indoor range tomorrow to sight in the scope and just play with it for a bit. I was disappointed to see that it doesn't come with a magazine. I'm not sure if one will fit under the scope. I just ordered one from PA so I guess we'll soon find out. I really like it in the carbine configuration.
