300s Tyrolean

They are kinda Semi rare . The stocks were banned because of the cheekpiece giving a more solid and repeatable cheek weld I am told . The great thing about them is that theyithey arevare Almost always in good shape and not the " shooter grade" rifles that are easier to locate . They also generally have better wood . They are gorgeous rifles but if you are hard on gear like I am the protruding cheekpiece is very easy to ding up . It's one of the very few models I try to avoid refinishing because it kills the value. If you locate a nice specimen hang on to it . They don't come up for sale that often

As Joe was saying, deemed an unfair advantage is why they were banned. They continued to sell because people wanted them and not everyone competes in 10m matches.

Thanks guys very helpful. I suppose the fact they were banned meant they didn’t end up in shooting clubs and schools hence the usual better condition. So they would have been more a special order for personal use. Do they feel like that check piece is more supportive than the normal stock?
Do you know if they stayed an option through out the life of the 300s?
Beautiful guns Mike. Was the barrel weight new for the 300s and replace the optional stock weight?
