Got my .30. It is a nice pup. The upgrades from the R3 are nice to experience, e.g., detenting fill port cover, detenting hammer spring tensioner, electronic pressure gauge, higher maximum fill capability (300 bar up from 220 bar), more power on tap, very effective factory moderator and super gorgeous looks.

I’ve got her set to shoot the 44.75 grainers at 900 fps and she does so quite proficiently. Seemingly without much effort that fat diabolo pellet is sent with precision. I shot out to 100 yards yesterday. Here is a picture of a 5-shot group (two through the same hole).

Thanks y’all. I forgot to mention that I also find that the R5 trigger is better than the R3. I’m admittedly a trigger snob and after some adjusting, I have this one just how I like it.

Yes, Kdog, the moderator on the R5 is awesome. On the .30 it has a difficult task in making an 80 FPE airgun quiet but it’s up for the challenge. The lighter calibers must be really quite!

Sonny, although I haven’t put a tape to the barrel, the advertised length of my Long’s barrel is 23.25”.

The screw behind the trigger blade adjusts the second stage weight of pull; CW for lighter & CCW for heavier (advise to make small adjustments and then test). The screw front of the trigger blade adjusts over travel; CW for less travel after second stage break & CCW for more travel (who wants that?). The rod can adjust sear engagement and first stage travel but the small nut has thread lock from factory which the nut compresses the small spring there.

Yes, you can fill the R5 to 300 bar now. With this said, I fill to max of 235-240 bar for less wear and tear so to speak.

Awesome skills Derrick. Enjoyed chatting with you earlier. Wish you weren't so far away. Beautiful R5 you got there

I did manage a few sub .25 ctc five shot groups at my zero 28yds with my R5M over the last couple days. Then would always have that one shot that would ruin it for me, but most even with a flyer at 28 yds could be covered with a dime. And it was quite windy. Just got the gun late Friday evening.

I admire you guys who can shoot the 100 like that. Hard enough for me to do that at 50. Most shooters that come to CampFussell out shoot me with my own guns anyway!

Had two buddies come over the other day and we shot a BR card each with my Thomas. Thought I had them with a 247 w/5x , but then Dwight kills me with a 248 w/ 8x and that was the first time he ever shot a BR card with it. Chan who had beat me the weekend before only shot a 243 w/ 10 x and none of us hit anything less than than the 9 ring at 25 meters. I actually set my target at 28 yds even though 25 meters is 27.3 yds. That's why all my guns are zeroed at 28 yds. Hardly ever shoot past 55.

I'll post more info after me and the ol' R5M get to know each other better and I get the trigger suited to my needs.

I haven't been able to post pictures since AGN upgraded the site or I would post a pic! Sorry
