Today is the start of practice at the NRA Whittington center in Raton, NM for the 2019 USARB 25m Benchrest Nationals.

I will post pics and results as they become available. We will not be shooting for score until Saturday.

This place is awesome! 75 concrete benches outdoors, and we have 3 lanes indoors if people care to check their sight in without wind. The weather has been great so far, but the wind is predicted to rise til Sunday. 5-8mph with some heavier gusts has been the norm.

The Whittington Center has on site cabins to house 200 competitors. It’s a 33,000 acre shootibg facility. https://nrawc.org/

Here is a partial pic of the shooting line.

Always thought 25m suck in BenchRest (too short) until I started shooting @ 25m ... not that easy since is a millimetric game , actually now I like it a lot.

Thanks for sharing!

Haha, yes edosan, I've had friends who felt the same way until they came over here to my place and tried their hand at it. Haven't had anyone bring their gun and whip the Thomas yet, but I have had a couple beat me using my Thomas.

Thanks for bringing this event to the forefront Mike and good luck tomorrow and Sunday.

There is no qualification process to participate. There are a few first time shooters here...and a lot of faces that I’ve seen for many years.

Ill tell you right now, that I won’t likely put any fancy video of the event together....lol. I struggle to remember to even take one picture. I will get the scores up each day, though.

The wind is very heavy. I saw some periods where it hit 28.5 mph. It was rarely under 10.

I checked in on a few shooters, and saw some great looking cards. 247-249s in the crap. It will be fun to see tomorrow unfold.

Ill try to get some pics.😀,

Mike
