.25cal Hades

Hi everyone,

Due to work schedule, weather conditions and the holidays, I haven't had the opportunity to test these .25 Hades as much as I'd like but I will report what I have thus far.

I am shooting these out of a FX Wildcat (Warcat) Compact at 887 fps. Accuracy 10-65 yards is almost identical to JSB Exact King.25 cal 25.39 grain. I haven't shot them out past 65 yards but the accuracy is there.

Two things I shoot at... targets and Iguanas. Everyone knows how targets react to pellets regardless of ammo being shot at it. Iguanas on the other hand are a completely story. Iguanas have a very tough hide that gets tougher as the iguana grows and gets larger. Tip to tip, they get to about 6 feet long. I had a shot at 2 iguanas (a 3-footer and a 4 1/2-footer) at 42 yards. Shot number 1 went to the 3-footer and it went down with one shot. Shot 2-5 hit the larger iguana accurately but he kept fleeing. I changed magazines (25.4 JSB Exact King Diabolo) and put him down with the next shot.

Scenario number two involved an iguana of similar size to the large male previously mentioned, but he was at 30 yards. 1 shot and he was motionless. Absolutely devastating results. He went down just like the smaller 3-footer previously mentioned.

I'll keep on working with the Hades to pinpoint which scenarios are best for it, but so far so good. 30 yards and in it will take any size of iguana down. At longer distances, only the smaller ones may fall to the Hades. I'll keep at it and let you know how they fare.

I have not hunt anything other than iguanas so I cannot compare quarry, but iguanas are pretty tough customers. When the get larger, not only does their hide seem to thicken, but their sculls seem to thicken/harden as well. I have hit one on the jaw at 10 yards and he shook it off as if it were a pesky mosquito. I was not aiming at the jaw by the way. He happened to begin bobbing his head and I mistimed it. But it turned out to be good research.

Anyhow, I will continue to test the Hades and can say that thus far, I am really happy with the accuracy, penetration, and thrilled with lack of exiting the animal. It seems to penetrate well but not exit with the exception of smaller ones and/or at much closer distance.
