.25 Smooth Twist Barrel Test

I tried to tell someone that a Original ST definitely can send certain slugs with good to great results.

Your FX Knockouts proved it. Thanks.

And my point was that certain other slugs have definitely done well from my .22 & .25 ST original.

My questions are: A) Can a Royale 500 shoot the 34gr Knockouts accurately? B) WHERE can one even find 34gr Knockouts? Can't find them anywhere! 

THANKS for clearing that up for me. Just thought that since Ted got OK results with an original Smooth Twist (on an Impact) that MAYBE they might work in the Royale (with the reg pressure increased) but not holding my breath! 

Royals have the "old "smooth twist barrels. They don't shoot slugs well for me in my FX400 22 caliber.

The pellet / slug speed is important. Ted tuned all the guns, to a point. His .30 is highly tuned, but for this demonstration, he couldn't spend the hours needed for each barrel / projectile combination really dial it in. I'll bet he's got many, many hours on that .30 getting it just right. Good approximations, but your mileage may vary.

I was pleased to see that both the original and STX smooth twist barrels shot about 1 MOA, and I'll bet with a bit more work, could shoot tighter groups.

To be honest, 5 or 6 years ago, who'd have thought 1 MOA guns could be so easy to come by. Man are we spoiled!

what i gather from the numbers is that if you dont want to spend alot of time pulling a gun apart and adjusting is to just stick to JSB PELLETS. it is so easy and almost guaranteed to perform well.

and if you have a smooth twist barrel, KEEP IT!

Finally some data for us .25 shooters. This is exactly what I have patiently been waiting for. Thanks Ted. A lot of work, but a good compilation of data. 

BUT Why is he saying that the gun he use for winning the EXTREME Benchrest 2016 have a 700mm barrel? So this gun he says have A 700mm IS that really a 700 or is it a normal 600 mm ST. As far as I know the ST original was only made in 600mm ? 

Have he ever mentioned he have got a speciel ST 700mm anytime? He says 700, but the 700mm original ST dosent exist so whats going on here..

When looking carefully on the video, we get a glimpse of the barrel, and the shroud seems to be longer than a 600mm barrel. Maybe he got a 700mm special made from FX?

I thought the same, but then he already got it with the the very first review of the impact because he had the long shroud on the impact already back then. I would have thought it just was a 600mm barrel with a speciel fixed shroud, but he says all in the test is with 700mm. and that means he have been shooting with a 700 ST original all time?
