Got together with Nick Smith (Socaloldman) today for some airgun fun. Thought we'd only be plinking but Nick's finely tuned auditory receptors (ears) picked up the chirp of ground squirrel communication. Soooooo, we sat, and sat and sat till finally, through a two foot opening in the undergrowth about 60 yards away I spotted a ground squirrel at 93 yards (Nick can verify). I was sighted in for 50 yards with Hades pellets in my Royale 500. Missed the 1st shot but knew EXACTLY where to put the crosshairs should it show its fuzzy little head again. 2 minutes later it did & I put one in its ear hole, AT 93 YARDS! Made my day & having Nick there to witness was icing on the cake! Here's the carnage:
