20yd 5 shot group.

I fianlly was able to get out and shoot some targets today. It took a few shots to get my scope adjusted and figure out the hold under and wind (the 2 shots on the edge of the target are from this). After getting everything straight i shot this five shot group at 20yds from a seated position, no rest. This is with a crosman phantom .177 springer, stock. I feel pretty good about it but I dont know anyone else who shoots springers so I have no idea if this is good. What do you guys think? I have really wanted to try some competition shooting but i dont really know how they work and what level the guys are out there. Any advice for me? Thanks!

That is an excellent group. If you are looking to use this in field target competition, I would be a little concerned with target ranges out at 55 yards, which is what I think is the maximum target distance used. Your pellet traveling at 1000 fps might get unstable as it approaches further distances. You wont know until you try it - good luck and let us know how you do. - KZ

Killzone, thanks for the feedback. I dont have a chrony but from using chairgun and calculating drop at different ranges i think im shooting about 750fps. A chrony is my next purchase. I plan to shoot some over the next few days so i will set a target out to 55yds and see what happens. Would you happen to know what the target size is normally at the 55yd range? I was also thinking about bench rest shooting which is at 25m if im not mistaken.
