That certainly does appear to be a well made piece with very substantial mounting. There is a much less expensive alternative that MIGHT work just as well for most air gun shooters-the UTG 20 MOA Picatinny rail with a pair of UTG Picatinny to dovetail adapters will mount to the same setup for roughly half the cost. The UTG combination probably wouldn't be absolutely as substantial in mounting as the hunters-supply unit appears to be but it might be all an air gun shooter would need. I have a couple set up that way and they are reliable.

Unless you are shoot a magnum powder burner, you can get a similar adapter on Ebay for about $10-$15 USD.

That one above is way nice one, but perhaps not for every budget.

Just my thoughts and it's your money. As usual...your mileage may vary, it usually does!

PS: No offense intended, Jessica!!!

Doesn't seem like anything you linked above relates to 20 MOA in the rail as the OP specifically mentioned.

The above links DO address the OP's initial point.

Another option that is cheaper but also looks lighter built by Hammers sold thru Yahoo..

This is a riser with built in MOA, not the same as the original post which can be used in conjunction with a dovetail rail.

Exactly. The item that OP noted provides BOTH dovetail to Picatinny adaptation AND 20 MOA built in in one apparently very substantial item. A very nice and visibly well made solution to the issue. The TWO items I linked are probably less solid (but enough for air gun use?) than the originally noted item but also cost less than half that item. Options are always good but they need to fit the question at hand. The item thwakkk linked should work for the issue if the purchaser added the UTG Picatinny to dovetail adapters to that item as well. As noted above, I have more than 1 set of the UTG Picatinny to dovetail adapters in use and they are completely functional and solid on my air guns. Are they as solid as the originally noted hunters-supply item. Probably not. That hunters-supply item does appear to be a very good solution to the issue.

I've already had myself added to the list for one a long time ago because not only is it a 20 MOA rail, it's 'solid' and is designed to stiffen the action, a well known accuracy issue for the long range big bore Texan shooters.

Doug, the owner of Maddog Stocks found a US manufacturer of AR gun parts to make them to ensure the quality and support the country too. He's been working on this for a long time and with several evolving versions til he perfected it. I told him three months ago I wanted one because the testers results were so good!

The other rails pointed out are just adapters, not built as stiffiners too. I know because I have every one of those linked in the above posts too. Not bad but all they do is hold the scope, not improve the rifle.

first class accessories for first class guns is always going to make the set up nicer

sure you can save a some money here and there but quality isn't cheap, look at the guys buying Atlas bipod

so thanks for the heads up and remember the mount he is showing has-------20 MOA built in and it is low compared to others, a very good looking mount

these mount I saw the other day look nice also

Update:

Just got off the phone with Doug about these.

The first production batch is going out now / today and they will be sold on both Hunter Supply and the Maddog sites. The Maddog site is being reworked today and so the rails will be up for sale there in a day or so.

Yes, they are $79.99 but that includes shipping (I found out mine is on its way, hurray) Another thing is that these are true hard anodized for long term wear resistance and to reduce scarring from clamping AND Doug is using high strength screws, not cheap hardware that will break off. Even the included Allen wrench he tried to find a quality one for his customers!

I try to be just as frugal as anyone but the prototype testers gained so much that I think the cost is worth it because I'm shooting such long ranges with my .257, .357 and .457 Texans the frame flex/wobble makes a difference with lessened accuracy. Of course, a lot was tamed by stocking my rifles with the Maddog stocks, I prefer the RJ-6A Recon versions. With the additional stiffness from the rail the issue will be fully resolved. (Just having the rail mounted alone on a Texan reportedly reduces most of the frame flex)

Note these were designed for the AirForce Texan but will fit on any 11mm dovetail... But if you have a top loading magazine you could have interference so it will not fit all airguns. I understand one non-Texan tester clamped his AHEAD of the loading port on a rifle so the rail is out over the barrel but it is SOLID.

now that's a very nice rail if I ever want to turn my bobcat to pic rings id get this one

Thanks for the helpful info. 😊 I looked up all those adaptors/ slanted rails.

However, they give me only 20MOA = 6MIL, not very much as I'm planning to reach out to 150 yards with heavy slugs and pellets.... 😧

Sure, you could just tell me I need a new gun with more power — and I couldn't even begin to argue with you about that!! Because — who of us does NOT NEED a new gun?! (Yeah, dumb question. Sorry.)

Now, before you suggest the obvious — adjustable rings — yes, I have those: Sportsmatch ATP61, Burris XTR, Eagle Vision Infinity. They're all good.

BUT they raise my scope even higher than my skyhigh bullpup rail on the Skyhawk. So, I'm trying to use a slanted rail and just use low regular mounts.

🔴 So, are there any slanted rails with say 40MOA that I can mount on a dovetail rail (with our without adaptor)??

Hi Jessica,
I looked at your link and those mounts aren't used for the same function. They are adapters from 11mm rail to 20-21 mm Picarinny mount, but the mounts in question have a 20 MOA, (20 inch at 100 yards), droop, to help with scope rectical centering.
