Remarks:

This was our second FT match of 2020. We still had to be COVID-19 compliant with the state of CT. Face coverings are mandatory when getting closer than 6 feet. We had a flexible start time from 9 am to 1 pm. Most people got there by 9 am. Only one person occupied each lane and scored themselves. The 3-foot-wide lanes were spaced 6 feet apart. We had timers with magnets stuck to the metal plate lane markers. Most finished shooting the entire course within 90 minutes. A few people shot again a second time with a different class and/or rifle.

The course was a little harder than the previous one with six 25mm sized kill zones. The tall grass behind the target was mowed down for hay. Reading the wind was more difficult at the longer distances.

It was a beautiful sunny day. There was not a lot of wind but there was a lot of mirage. Which made range finding slightly difficult. It was a perfect day for shooting. Wearing shooting jackets became a sweaty affair.

We had a first-time shooter Rich Gauvin trying out field target in Hunter PCP Class. He bought Pete’s old Umarex rifle. He did well for his first time and placed a couple of points above his friends Pete and Alan.

Tom Wade had a fill port leak on his rifle that ended his day of shooting. He will replace the Air Arms fill adaptor with a foster fitting.

John (WFTF Class) matched Chas (Open Class) for match high score of 51.

We have two cold lines. One was a tall target that was sloping backwards too far and would not reset properly. It was replaced with a shorter one and the concrete base was leveled. The other was a replacing a broken pull string connector.

At the end of the match, we had Tom H., Tom W., Chas, John & Brian helped taking down the course including myself, Ron and his son Mike. I am thankful for Ron hosting the match on his property especially on Father’s Day. I thank all who came, shot, helped clean up and enjoyed the day of shooting.

Next FT match: 2020 July 12 Sunday
