1st Impressions on the Disco .177

So, my Daughter has been shooting guns since she was 4 and she's pretty good at it, lately she has this little gang of friends ranging in age from 6 to 9 and they are loving the shooting games they have, something along a Top Shot competition.

Until now I got them to use my springers, but the hold sensitivity and recoil of them guns can get them frustrated as their expectations for accuracy grows.

I for that reason I decided than it was time to buy my Daughter her own gun,....always been a fan of the Disco, so the decision was made to get one in .177.

Now, at this point I could get one from Pyramyd at 259.00 plus shipping,....or I could go for one of those vendors that do a little work on the guns and spend a bit more,
In the end you always get what you pay for.

I've heard great things about Norm at Disco 'R us so I contacted him,
we went through a bunch of various options and we settled on a gun tuned to 12 FPE with a 3000 psi capability, a trigger tune and a power adjuster to eventually if needed I can up the power.

The gun came in a couple days ago, I like this little gun, the stock is way better in looks and feel than the Maurader .25 stock I had.

I zeroed the gun at 35 yards and she's pretty accurate with the 10.5 Crosman dome ( I will order some more quality pellets on next Pyramyd order )

The gun has actually by far exceeded all my expectations, Norm did a fabulous job.

The gun's stats are as follow.

3000 psi down to 1700 psi with 8.4gr pellet

LOW fps 789
HIGH fps 826
AVG fps 811

12 FPE with a 3% spread for a whopping 73 shots.

Now that is fantastic, those kids can shoot a bunch of pellets without interruptions

I think I'll want to buy an extra barrel band,....any tips where the best spot would be ?

For 3000psi, was the tube changed or just the valve retention screws?? Tube looks stock but valve screws don't look stock. The disco is a great gun. I have had multiple .177 and .22's since they were first released. With a marauder trigger group the disco is really tough to beat!! Just order a barrel band from crosman. You might also get one from TKO or maybe Cothran.

Edit for spelling

Thanks for posting Manny. A friend and I bought a couple of Refurbs from Norm. Haven't spent much time with mine as I have 8 different air rifles to play with now days.
Anyway, my buddy Paul put a Lane regulator in his and gets around 50 shots on a 2200-2500 psi fill. So, I assume yours is regulated?
He just put a LW barrel on it from a Crosman Challenger. Thought it was a drop in but he had to do some milling to get it to work?
Anyway, when my airgun funds get built back up, I will be getting him to put a regulator in mine. Not sure if I'll keep the stock barrel or not?
It's great to hear of your success with your daughter's new air rifle and hope to hear more. You'll have to take a break from your hog vids and post some vids of the kids shooting ;-) Tofaz did a post with his son a while back. Made an awesome video with him.
Take care man, enjoy your posts.

PS.....got my Blizzard from Will......easily shooting sub 1/2 inch 5 shot groups at 30 yds with 21 grain Kodiaks so far
Gotta get some lower scope mounts for the Falcon T50. I'll eventually put a smaller scope on it! LOL
