Hi All

I'm looking for a new rifle and considering an FT rifle. Complete newbie when it comes to FT so looking for advice on the rifle to begin with.

Budget is around £2k for the rifle. It has to be .177 and 16J power to meet FT requirements here.

So far, I've looked at RAW TM1000 and a few reviews available so far on it deem it to be excellent FT rifle.

What other rifles should I consider? Recommendations please. I want something that would require very little if any tinkering out of the box, and be trouble free for at 2-3yrs minimum. Will be shooting a lot in the 40-50y backyard as well.

Excellent weather proofing is a must because of wet conditions most year around.

Thanks

Chris Berry from our Tar Heel Air Gun Club shot an Air Arms FTP 900 for a while before he got his high dollar Thomas FT rifle.
He hated to sell it to finance his Thomas, but said it was one of the most accurate rifles he has owned and he has owned many.

I had a Walnut S500 that I bought from Chris and it was a laser as well. Then I bought a .177 Cricket Carbine which I still have , but hope to try my luck at FT with my new Thomas this fall.
The Raw is a fine rifle, and I don't think you could go wrong with any Air Arms rifle as well.
The Air Arms HFT 500 should be awesome as well!
