12fpe PCP in .177, penny for your thoughts....

I thoroughly enjoy my Leshiy sub12 .177 setup. I’ve put a couple thousand RWS supermags through it over the winter. Enough pigeons, starlings and rats to fill the skid loader bucket several times over. Get about 70 shots per fill. Easiest thing there is to carry with a single point sling. Black hockey tape in a few places on the gun and scope to keep it scratchless. Best part I find is the ease of uncocking it and physically seeing the hammer at rest.

Theoben: Not familiar with them, even though I recognize the name. Are they easy to work on? Heavy?

Theoben went tits up about 8 years ago, they were the the gun that RAW based their weapons on, i do believe that airforce are going to reintroduce the rapid back into production.

Yes, extremely easy to work on, particularly the unreggulated version, I could pretty much do a full service will riding in the back of an old land rover while wearing boxing gloves. Very easy to customise too.

it depends on how you configure the rapid that determines the weight, put a 21” barrel and a 500cc bottle then yes it’s a bit of a lump. A shorter barrel, smaller capacity bottle or tube, then no it’s not heavy, my 12 year old grandson has one and he manages it with no problem.

here is his

One more to consider in the 0.177 and 12fpe range is the Weihrauch HW100k.

I've found them to be one of the most brilliantly engineered PCP's out there, and in carbine form not very heavy. They have exceptional mags, are very easy to work on, bomb proof and laser accurate. The regulator on them is excellent and easily adjustable too. The weihrauch silencer that comes included with them (don't bother with the FSB model) is VERY effective.

They come set up higher than 12fpe from the factory but turning them down is a breeze.

The trigger is amongst the very best out there. Miles better than my FX triggers and easily as good as my red wolf, but has a more satisfying mechanical character. I have had three and did have one come set a bit wonky but 5 minutes later I had the second stage breaking like the Queen's crystal champagne glass 😋

The only relative drawback in my mind is a relatively low shot count compared to some of the guns others have suggested due to a relatively small cylinder - mine gets about 70 at 14fpe as it's set up now. That said, if a leshiy is on the cards that shouldn't be too big of a deal.

Worth a thought at least!

Thanks @Marcos , I really like the HW100, specially the Carbine in Laminate, but was always worried about not knowing if it’s easy to work on or not. Are there any videos out there on adjusting them? Thanks!

Plenty, plus a number of pdf type guides regarding full strip down. If you end up getting one I'll be more than happy to link you to them!

Quick correction on my previous - did a proper full chrony string on mine after umming and ahhing over what exact shot count I get - I actually sold it short and get 96 shots at my current tune 👍🏻

Agree with you on the laminate - it looks great. My HW100 has magnificent walnut - the photo does it no justice - but many are quite plain.

I have a 12fpe .177 pcp myself. I absolutely love it! However, it’s not something that can just be purchased as a complete setup.

I converted a QB78 to HPA and added a repeater breech (Air Venturi) that uses Marauder magazines. I added a LW barrel to it with a Rocker1 shroud/moderator to it. I made the thumb hole stock myself.

Its throwing JSB 8.4 pellets somewhere around 800 fps and gets more than 150 shots. I never took the time to run the air out. I’m sure it could be more air efficient with a SSG and playing with hammer weights and the likes but I just haven’t got around to it yet.

It is accurate but the wind really does effect it at distances. It’s really easy to operate, off a bench, especially for younger kids. This is Sean’s 25 yard targets.

Marauder field and target all the way. I have one in 177 that I got from joe at air tanks for sale. It had a defective barrel but joe and crosman both helped me out and its getting replaced. Joe installed a free floating hammer and the gun is now getting like 100 shots at 18 fpe before falling off the reg. Marauders are completely adjustable and can be tuned to any power you want. You would probably get 130 shots or more out of that.
