Tuning 12fpe FX Boss?

I was thinking I need a 12fpe .177 and was shopping around a bit.

But then I got to thinking why? Why not use something more quality that I already own. I also don't want to adjust the reg down in it so it does need a bit of hammer weight to overcome it being set at 150-155.

This is a .22 Boss with a 600mm LW polygon, I can also put the 500mm STX from the impact on there with the slug liner. Tried using no hammer weight but was valve locking, but the R500 one would be too much. So I tried the older 4 gram HW from the impact and it slid right in the hammer, perfect!

Shot strings nice and stable at around 610fps with crosman domes.

Love these guns!

Probably easy enough to drill a hole on the opposite side of the brass and put the notch. I would definitely start small and work it up larger if needed. Can always make bigger hole but not smaller. Maybe even crazy idea 4 position index holes 12 and 3 and 6 and 9 o clock positions all with index notches all different diameter holes.

I get ROYALTIES!!!

I’ve been playing with 12fpe tunes lately in a couple rifles , one is the HW100 in .22 and the other is a Disco Frankengun with 500cc bottle in .25 . Both are running at 70 bar reg pressure with very little hammer strike. The .25 trajectory is a little loopy as expected but I also shortened the stroke via extending the front of the hammer. Very fast lock time . Really fun to shoot both. And as expected the shot counts are triple what they were. Maybe the Brits are onto something . ;)
