10M ISSF Suggestions?

Hey All,

I'm new to air gunning and my son has been shooting 10M for a while and I'm wanting to join him. He has a Hammerli AP20 Pro that we picked up because of price point and his age (12) and I've been shooting that and having a blast. So I'm curious as to what suggestions you all may have for me, I'm looking to get myself a pistol that maybe he could grow into so I'm looking for suggestions on that and any online training or tips type of videos?

Thanks all!

Any 10M match pistol from Steyr, Morini, Feinwerkbau, Pardini, etc. will do. More important is to work on the grip so it fits your hand well, and test pellets from different batches, so you can find a batch that groups tight with your pistol. A well set up trigger is also important, but that is usually already taken care of by the manufacturer, if you chose a 10 meter match grade pistol.

While not super cheap, you do seem get what you pay for in the higher priced guns as far as detail, accuracy, build quality.

I bought a Steyr Sport LP 50, Compact a while back. It's a five shot, 177 cal. repeater, left or right hand, large, medium or small grip. WAY more accurate than I am. A lot of fun to shoot.

My suggestion is to check out

http://thecmp.org

They have pretty much everything you could want regarding advice for the shooting sports. While there, look up the ACES postal competitions. Invaluable for continuing your shooting education.

Champion's Choice, Pilkington's, and Creedmore's websites offer selections that meet the requirements for a competition pistol.

Hope this helps.
