Umarex Zelos Trigger improvements / mods?

Has anyone modified the trigger on a Zelos. I lighten the spring on the trigger rod and adjusted the screws for 1st length and pull weight. The trigger is now an acceptable 1.5 lbs, the 1st stage short, but 2 issues still exist. Overtravel, and a non-smooth somewhat gritty pull. All my other PCP guns have better triggers, R5M, Vixen, Marauder and GK1.

I guess you get what you pay for it was the least expensive of the bunch!

It's been a few months - is your trigger smoothing out from use or have you found any thing to do to improve it? I'm going to try adjusting mine - it's breaking at 2.25lbs and has around 5/16 of an inch of take-up but doesn't feel gritty.

Any update on this? I love the accuracy of my Zelos, but the trigger is horrendous. It just sort of crunches along until it breaks. I can't feel the second stage threshold at all. Just not there.

I backed off the tension of the first stage spring a little. Then I adjusted the rod so the first stage is longer. It’s a bit of a balancing act with the tension on that spring. But where I’m at now I have a longer soft first stage and a soft wall but not too soft for the second stage. I didn’t play with the sear adjustment. There’s no grit and making it any lighter isn’t going to suddenly make me shoot it any better. I personally need a second stage that I can rest on as I follow a critter.

I know for a fact that 2 different guns made by the same can shoot different. My 1st Zelos had a smoother trigger than the 2nd one , and the cocking was much smoother as well. I got mine set set as a long first stage ( I hate a rifle to shoot when I barely touch the trigger) I pull back to that stop then a gentle squeeze fires it.
