Umarex Zelos .25 vs Gauntlet 2 .30

Thanks! I enjoyed the G2 very much but it was still longer for me than I wanted at 44" with the moderator, buttstock fully extended. About 38" collapsed
Yeah, I can see why, lugging the monster around in a golf cart. What guns do you have? I only have the UX Zelos, but tested, sighted in, and repaired some friends guns: Gauntlet 2 .25 cal., and Avenge-X in .22, they both shoot very well, but the stock on the Avenge-x (the standard plastic one) is utterly awful!

Yessir, they are all lasers, except the U2. I just got it back up and running again, so I gotta do some minor tuning to get the spreads down and tighten up the groups but 48fpe in .177 is no slouch!
WOW! Man, I don't have a chronograph, but when I get one I wanna tune my Zelos. Naw, you ain't joking! 48fpe in .177? That is INSANE!!! I remember the small pneumatic .177s (I forgot the model, crossman makes them) I still have it (it broke, seal went out, shot my wall when I was pumping it up for a shot out of my window, as it was cold and that was the only way to target practice in the snow, but there are so many memories with that gun), I remember one evening, it was dusk, and my friend saw a squirrel on the side of a tree, hidded my vines except for his head, I took him with iron sights at 30yds right in the head, that was with cheap crossman pellets too. Sorry, I feel like I have childhood bragging rights though, LOL! But now with pcp's, that world is changing.

It is changing in the respect that lower priced airguns (like the Zelos) can be basically laser guns!

That's a nice story! I remember using a game wildcat 177 as my first air gun and taking a squirrel in Alaska about 13 years ago. The airgun gun certainly has changed, and the zelos once touched find the right projectile, is an absolute tack driver hint it's not pellet/slug picky in my experience at least. Unless you want to go shoot long distance

Thanks, man. That is cool. Fun memories. Oh yeah, I gotta try different ammo out, my accuracy has been suffering as of late, I believe I need to clean the barrel, as I have shot 7,000 rounds through it. The one problem I am having with the gun right now is that the lever doesn't stay locked back, I believe I sheared something internally, so that is annoying, it means I sometimes unintentionally load a round, then I need to find a safe place to discharge it, fun. Do you know how I can fix this problem? I don't want to appeal to warranty as that would mean I'd be out of a gun for a while.

Remove the scope, scope rail, and cheek rest. You will see the back bone of the gun is held by 8 or 10 small screws and there will be a hole about middle of where the cheek rest would sit. Should be directly above the pellet probe, see that the screw that hold the probe block isn't loose. If it is, take it off inspect an clean it and if it's just loose add a drop or 2 of red loctite and screw it back in and test it by cocking the gun to make sure that it works correctly. Then out it back together!

Thanks man, it is so great having knowledgeable people to talk to, can't that you enough. I've taken the cheek rest and butt plate off, but I haven't taken the scope mount off, will do though. I'll let you know what my results are.
