You’ve got a $1000 budget ….

i love these types of questions it makes me see flowers on the perfect hillside with lots of squirrels and stuff lol ... 1000$ can be saved alittle longer and be enough to buy something nice like a preist lol .. and whats a 'setup', just the gun? with scope, moderator and air it can blow the budget all the way back to a walmart springer lol ... but just the gun, and to actually build something i did it with my old marauder .. its depinged and assuming you already have a moderator and scope and only need an adapter it would squeeze in under budget with the hill kit in it .. pushes north of 60 ft lbs and is ready to waste some serious wildlife quiet-life lol

Roast the new guy eh?

I’m pretty new to the airgun world. I bought a large Air Venturi tank and a Seneca Wingshot II this last fall that I have been using for bird hunting. It will roast geese out to at least 40 when loaded with #9.5 tungsten shot.

I am looking to build a quiet setup for small game that can double as home pest control. I looked at the new aea carbine guns but I have been kind of floored by all the content out there. I thought I would pitch a budget to the pros…..being Christmas and all 😆. There’s wiggle room. Might even be able to wriggle the wife up to $2000.

The AEA carbine setup appealed to me because I could shorten the stock for my kids to start shooting. I wanted to get some ideas.

*builds you a 9fpe 1325 and mod from spare parts/scrap*. That'll be $1k usd

LOL, honestly that would be the quietest, other than pumping. To best answer this we need to know range and targeted power output. The lower the output the quieter. From there, you can make anything quiet. Eleminate hammer bounce, and make a custom ldc, or have one made.

I appreciate your newbie desire to pair your (google) search for the "quietest .25 hunting setup" with the most sophisticated and opinionated group of experienced shooters this side of Jupiter. Good luck, and as always, have fun.

OK, I'll bite.

II have a good old-fashioned Marauder in .22. Just buy the .25 version. If it's not quiet enough, stick a Donny FL on the front.

Marauder - $550

Donny Fat Boy - $180 or so

Extra Magazine - $18

In a total of $748, even leaves enough for a hand pump at $250.

Instead of a hand pump, spring for a Yong Heng and Air Tank

Yong Heng - $250 on eBay

Tank - $390 for the Air Venturi mini-Wingman.

So, adding compressor and tank, total now is.$1388.

It's a simple but highly adjustable gun, I'm enjoyed mine and lots of people here have them. FX gets the buzz, but guns like the Marauder are the backbone lots of people start out with.
