On Tuesday, my wife came home after visiting her parents. Her eyes went straight to the now easily recognizable box from Talon Tunes laying on the kitchen floor -- the box that had carried my latest acquisition: the Taipan Veteran Long .25 caliber.

She looked me straight in the eye and said, "You have a problem".

"No", I said. "This gun shoots 66 fpe, just as advertised. Just now, I recorded 36 shots at over 60 fpe. This thing is laser accurate. It is quiet enough to shoot in our backyard without disturbing the neighbors. Look at it. It's beautiful and compact."

"There's no problem, this gun is sweet." I said, as she turned and walked away. I don't complain about all those shoes she buys. 

I'll take her to dinner tomorrow. When I get back from the range.

Women (at least my woman) want you to spend time with them. Aside from a solely financial disagreement, I think most women see our toys as another source of distraction from spending time doing things with them. I know mine did. We have recently been trying to be much more conscious of doing things and spending time together. For instance... I started running with my wife. I am now a runner myself. We run together. We recently started Ball Room dancing lessons, and this has opened the door to regular nights out for dinner and dancing. We now dance together. Last Christmas, my gift to her was the three-diamond pendant which she wanted just to feel special. Her gift to me... I got to buy her an FX Impact X. I have a new shooting partner, and we have started shooting together. I'm tellin' ya... his and her airguns will solve your problems! Just be aware that when you tell her you bought her an airgun, she might actually think it's hers. Small price to pay.

This is what hat my wife asked of me for her Xmas present for this last Christmas. Now mind you, I already built her a set of four last February, exactly a year ago. She ended up giving two away as a gift to a special friend of hers, and asked if I’d replace them by building her two more, but instead she hit me up for four! I just finished these last week, and I’ll never do it again. People look at this and just see the end product, the chair. What they don’t see is the labor it took to make and paint these dang things. All I asked for Xmas were pellets. I should have had her make them, too, not just buy them, lol. I already know my wife. I’ve got my eye on a new wildcat 30 cal from FX. If I ask if it’s okay for me to get that, the effort and time it took to build these chairs are already long forgotten, and like I said, I just finished these last week. In other words, I’ll get the eye roll, and the big NO! 

Looking at this positively, it makes me appreciate the three pcp guns I own, a Marauder rifle and pistol, and a hatsan bully, and I make the best of with what I have in those.

There are 2 theories about arguing with a woman …. neither one works.

You see … women and men are fundamentally different. Doesn't matter what the subject is … they're just plain different.

When spending money … a woman will pay $1 for a $2 item she doesn't want … a man will pay $2 for a $1 item he wants

On the future … a woman will always worry about the future until she gets a husband … a man never worries about the future until he gets a wife

On success … a man is successful who makes more money than his wife can spend …. a successful woman is one who can find such a man.

On marriage … a woman marries a man expecting him to change, but he doesn't … a man marries a woman expecting she won't change and she does

On nature … men wake up in the morning as good-looking as they went to bed … women somehow deteriorate during the night.

On children … a woman knows everything about them … dentist appointments, favorite foods, best friends, secret fears, hopes and dreams …. on the other hand a man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

To wrap it up ... women are from earth, men are from earth, deal with it ... and never miss a good opportunity to keep your thoughts to yourself.
