You can save me tonns of pellets with your advise

Calculating

Since I am currently @ 905 with 132 bars, the HS wheel is on #2...(970 is on Max)

I will not touch the Reg let it sit @132, but I will back the HS to get the speed down to 850 with a shorter dwell time. The other thing I would like to avoid is abusing the rubber ball on the VS.

I have never seen anybody selling those small rubber balls, I would like to have some in spare. My valve spring is not original, I ran into it in an automotive supply store. I really don't know the specs on the spring, only that is working so far, but still to save the rubber ball.

Have yet to shoot “dime sized groups at 100y all day,” but I shoot outdoors. I bet the folks who shoot at RMAC and EBR would like to shoot dime sized sub MOA at 100 yards. :)

The reason you haven’t is because you shoot REAL air rifles and not Keyboard Guns. The only pellet airguns I’ve ever heard of that shoot dime sized groups at 100Y “all day long” are the figments of the keyboard gun owners version of their imagination. Reality doesn’t enter that equation. But it does make them feel better about their high end Keyboard Guns. And it does provide a chuckle to many of us real Airgun shooters. ;)

Think about it. The ten ring on EBR targets are 0.5 inches approx., plus the diameter of the 0.35” scoring plug would mean dime size shooters would consistently shoot 250 “all day long”. Perhaps the fact that winning scores have been about 225 could inject reality into the “dimers”…

Hun , you will most likely notice that keeping your regulator set that high and only reducing the adjuster to lower your velocity will cause a higher ES . The closer you keep the hammer spring adjuster to the knee of the shot curve the lower the es gets. That’s how I tune all my guns , the Impact is no different , it just gives me a broader range . The VS does help with getting the spread down though.

Well illustrated Mike.

The target dimensions for the actual 10 ring and scoring plug measurements clearly put some serious reality into the equation.

OP - thanks for posting the thread as I did pick up some useful information from several folks about optimizing .25 cal pellets and associated velocities.

Yes, Thanks, I understand, I will try that doesn't cost much :)

Sliding down from 905 (ES=4) to 860 on a Reg is so small change, most likely I will get all of the variations dialed in within let say 50 pellets, and have fun in mean time as well.

For now I don't want to change pellets I have a big stock in this single size and this can take me safely to several months. A biggest work is washing/sorting/lubing, but a next purchase will be somewhere in winter so no worry's, we got free time in a basement over winter here in CA anyway :)

I was today at my 50 M range, and lowered the speed to 870, ES=4, PW #1 and dialed in the scope. Grouping sub moa but I know the distance is way to short to show some flaws.

The STX-A liner is still not indexed. Bare barrel, no shroud attached.

I am a big fan of a theoretical benefits of an air stripper, so let me try one. I have this below in the image-adjustable cone distance, just screw it on, I did not adjusted anything on the stripper only mounted, and the speed jumped 8-10 fps, POI changed for about a MOA higher.
