Yong heng’s inner cyclone filter.

Someone called my attention about a cyclone water filter in addition to the cotton filter.
It seems like only few knew about the internal cyclone separator of yong heng.
It is located at the low pressure bleed valve. It is not as effective as the cotton filter?

It removes far more water than the cotton filter if you purge it often enough. But even when combined with the cotton filter it will not remove all of the water. If you purge, both the high and low systems for a couple of seconds, every five minutes and replace the cotton filter every twenty, set the old one aside to dry and use it later, most of the water will be removed from your system.

Many of us use a secondary filter to catch the rest of the moisture not removed by the cyclone and cotton filters and purging. It depends on the humidity level you are in how much more of a filter you need if any.

Add a better filter if needed to be sure more moisture and any oil smell is removed from the system. Many of us use this Tuxing three media filter although, if you feel the need, you can change media types at any time.

A smaller one will probly do for many.

Thank you. I have them.

I'm curious, are you supposed to pull that ring on the red cap to open or drain moisture? I can't find anything in the manual that tells me what that pull ring/valve is used for.

By the way it looks, the cyclone may bring down an object to clog the relief valve. A such, there is no way to manually release the pressure except thru the safety valve. Unlike the high pressure relief valve at the other side, you have the relief valve, the air outlet and the burst disc to release the pressure in case one gets clogged.. If there is slight pressure in the low pressure piston, the compressor may not be able to rotate. Just IMO.
