It turned out to not be the compressor, actually. It would not build pressure above 3000 psi. When I shut it off I heard a leak at the extra air filter which had a bad O-ring. But then I restarted and it still would not build pressure. Traced the remaining issue to a missing O-ring in the stock little filter that came with the YH. Must have become displaced when I was replacing the white filter after a previous use. I had to let the water cool but got the tank up to around 4000 so I am good for awhile.
I still have a slight leak around where the cooling water fitting is at the top. It's not a hard jet of air but there is a little gentle breeze that is probably coming from the bolted top cap of the high pressure pump. Anybody fix a leak at that location?
