I bought a Yong Heng compressor and did the whole maintenance routine of running the compressor without pressure for 15 mins and then changing out the oil before putting it under a load. I refill the oil to right above the red dot oil level indicator and ran the compressor for 20 mins to fill up my 45min SCBA tank. When I went to de-pressurize the unit and turn it off, I notice the oil level was above the oil indicator by quite a bit. What's going on here? Am i getting water into the oil somehow?

Mine did the same thing first time I ran it. I drained all the oil and started over, and all is well.

I over filled mine the first time cause the sight didnt have the hole at the 12 o'clock position and kept a bubble there and looked like I needed to ad more. So make sure you have a hole at the 12 o'clock position like this

It's like your car oil change you deliberately add not enough oil at first then start her up let it warm up then turn off check oil level top off to no more than that max fill line.

Mine is not at the 12 o'clock position. Can you adjust that? I'll check for water later but how would it get in there?

I used a 24mm socket heck you might be able to get a wrench on it and just turned it a little. Just dont over tighten it, you can go the opposite way if need be but not so much that it leaks.

So, I figured it out. With all the aerating going on, I had a bubble pocket. Once it bursted, the oil came back to normal level. I drained it just in case and it measured out to about the amount I put in.

Did you put the valve on top that's supplied? I think that's what you're get aeration issues

There is a gasket membrane between the crank case and the front cover to keep excess oil sloshing onto the the breather hole. Oil works in slowly to the inspection hole/window
