Yong Heng oil Leak question

Noticed some oil on the bottom case, not a lot but enough to see a minor puddle. I did find where one back foot had vibrated off.
This compressor has never really cooled correctly, did the water pump up grade but no luck there. any guidance word be appercated.

If the crankcase is overfilled with oil you could be getting oil collecting in and getting blown out of the moisture purge. These are directly over the areas where you show oil collecting. If it is coming from the moisture purge I would expect some oil residue on the casing as well. Can you send us a picture of the cotton filter and the oil window when the unit is level? I normally only get a small dot of oil on the cotton filter.

That is WAYYY more oil on the filter than I have ever had. The one dark spot near the middle in your second pic is the most I get. I have never gotten oil on the sides of the filter like in your third pic. However, I do switch out the cotton filter after each fill to let it dry out (filling a 74 cu ft tank). How often do you change the filter? In your first picture I can not see the oil level. I think that I "might" see a bubble at the top of the window. If that is a bubble then you have too much oil in the YH. The oil level should be level with the top of the red dot.
Wish I could send you pics from mine but I am out of country.

Tim,
I'll run down my procedures for keeping YH cool, might prove helpful. The air fill station is semi-permanent, the items in the laundry sink are set-up each session. Starting with room temperature compressor, first step is stool in sink to keep water level close to level of YH, makes job easier for water pump. Assure rear screen of water pump is fully open, then add pump/hoses and water to bucket. Add three frozen bottles, let water cool 20-30 minutes, plug in water pump, run till YH digital temperature display reads in 18s-degree C. Set gun on upper shelf and connect air hose, start external fan, after assuring pressure release screws on copper-colored filter and Yong Heng are open, start compressor, close pressure release screws. I only fill guns and leave external fan and water pump running during, and after, fill session, till all is cool. Wait 45 minutes between gun fills to allow cool down and have additional ice bottles to add if water temp rises. WM

Your cooling issues could also be the result of the oil level being too high. I would remove the top end and clean everything to avoid the possibility of future problems such as: carbon build up on reed valves leading to loss of pressure / slower fill times, oil migration through fill lines, possible oil detonation (depending on oil used), and premature wear on high pressure piston seals. Not trying to be all gloom and doom but those are possibilities if you just drain, refill to proper level, and run it. It might be perfectly fine to run it and blow the excess oil out; depends a lot on what oil you used.

You guys nailed it, grossly over filled. Drained the oil to required level, cleaned up all the excess oil and put it back together. Here are some pictures of the current oil level and also the excess oil I drained out. On the wiring harness there is a green and yellow wire that was not used when the unit was built. Is this possibly the wire you would use for the automatic shut off function? Thanks to all you guys for the help and information. Going to fire it up tomorrow and fill some Guns.

Hw,
Mine has same minor leak, not bothered about it, just keep eye on oil level. More info needed on "never cooled correctly, " what temps, fill procedures, use of ice and extra cooling fan? WM
Mine leaks tiny tiny bit like a 1/6 of a drop or so some tiny amount when I slide my finger under the screw an look an see bit of oil like I just touched a greasy plate. Il just wrap the outside of the screw with tape until next oil change, hour meter says 0.8 hours so I got a good few fills to go I think Il just add a bit of thread tape on the screw so it dont leak just a tiny bit on the end. When I actually got the unit I drained the oil cleaned the screw there was some gel type stuff between the threads I didnt want it getting back into my oil so I cleaned it out with q tips maybe it was meant to be on to help seal who knows, Anyway its such a tiny bit of oil so its no problem.
